Lt1>ls1
Very true. But, as time goes on, and faster and faster cars are produced with newer, superior motors, people begin to think the old ones were junk. It's only a matter of time before the LS1 is thought of the same way an LT1 is. It's a never-ending cycle.
But come on LS1 and LT1 people CANT WE ALL JUST GET ALONG, and stomp mustangs together! HAHA
The problem with the LT1's is there are only a few proven combos unlike the LS1's which you can build easily and make good power by reading a couple of LS1Tech posts. I state this with proof.......IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING AN LT1 CAN BE A VERY POTENT ENGINE!!!! I have plenty of LS1 guys trying to figure out how my street driven LT1 is out launching them and out horsepowering them on the high end. All I'm saying is don't put down the LT1's!!!!!!! If anybody would like to find out and your in the new england area I'd love to show you how my LT1 doesn't "pull" on the top end like a LS1. Hows 99 in the 1/8 and 129 in the 1/4 sound? Sounds like a lot of high end hp with not enough converter right? Care to find out?
I'm not saying lt1s can't be fast.. But you are comparing a 385 to a 346.. Why not compare a 385 to a 383?
The Mach and Cobra are both races though.
i dont see what the big discrepancy is here. a bolt on/geared LT1 beat a stock LS1. thats a well known fact that the LT1 will win than. mod for mod is obviously to the LS1s advantage.
i dont see why everyone has to hate the lt1. there are other ls motors out there that are much more potent than the ls1, like the ls2, ls3, ls7, and ls9. i dont hear them bashing the ls1.
as i said, all things being equal, i dont put the cobra in ther same class as the others. i think, when stock, its a step above. as for the mach 1, never had a problem with them with my lt1 so i can only imagine how bad the ls1 guys beat them. dont even get me started on the gt. the only use for them i see is to pick on ricers.

This.
Not only that, the GT does the 1/4 in 13.9. While that's not LS1 speed, it doesn't take many bolt-ons to get it there. To say GTs are only good for ricer races in a bit obnoxious..
Also, I can't remember me racing a stock LT1 and losing in my stock GT, and people in THIS give more respect to the LT1 than they do the 2v GT.

<edit> Sorry, I want to add something. I thought the 94 TransAm was like other LT1s I raced. So no, my car isn't a FASTER car. They are about equal in speed. Regardless, it's still kinda pretentious to bash a car that does the 1/4 the same as yours did when it was stock.
I'm POSITIVE it's getting "Old" for you. You only seem to like to talk about cars you are faster than. Your insecurity slip is showing...

Not that I think Camaros are slow...
