Default 04 WRX vs 02 GT

There has been this guy with a blue WRX (looks to be 04 era? Not sure) that goes by ANYONE that looks to have a fast car and throws off purges to act cocky. I've ignored him for a long long time until today going up the onramp of I-77. He was RIGHT ON MY *** the whole time (I wasn't speeding) going up the ramp, as soon as we both got on the freeway we hit it. He actually had a slight advantage at first, then I got a lead on him and kept gaining till I had a little over a car on him, and kept it that way to 110. I flashed my breaks (there was major traffic and construction ahead) He of course did a ricer fly-by, flipped me off, and proceeded to go what I would say over 140 to get in front of me after I had already slowed down. I am SERIOUSLY doubting this WRX had any performance mods at all. The kid looked all of 18. This was the 3rd one I've raced, and the 2nd one I've taken.
I hope to see the guy around town soon. I doubt he will act so cocky the next time.

Is your 02 GT stock? If so shouldn't a modded WRX beat you?

I raced one in my g/f's Mach 1 with exhaust and intake (no tune) and it was pretty ugly. Her car at the time trapped 106mph in the 1/4th. The one I raced had the bubble looking tail lights and the little wing. Not the park bench one.

Oh and good kill.

Park bench wing= STI (unless someone just added it for "looks"), which is a larger motor and turbo then the WRX.

Good Kill OP. Guy is a ******* Douche for flipping you off, but **** it. He needs to get broke off more and more to learn that his car isn't the End All End performance vehicles. ****, we watched a modded, front mount, supposedely quick WRX get murked by a buddies lil k20A EG hatch...same hatch I pulled when I was near stock lol.

Nothing more pathetic than someone who starts s**t and then acts like a girl when it doesn't go their way.

pi 2v's are alright in stock form. every one will run 13.9. but add some trick flow heads and they'll run 6's easy!

Only an STi would give a Mach 1 a run for it's money with those mods. A regular old WRX is a pooch (mid-high 14's), and they're major POS's. I have a buddy with an '02, and another one with an '05. Needless to say, nothing is still stock on them..................And it wasn't really by choice.

Good kill OP!!!! I hate those cocky drivers. A buddy of mine had a neighbor with an STI and would always take off and let us hear his BOV whenever I was there. We tried to get the guy to race me and he acted offended "With that!?!?!?" He said he would race me at the track I caught him on the street and when I got next to him, he was driving slow shifting like at 1,500 RPM

heh heh, my friends rex broke off a 12.9 with intake, boost control, and open downpipe. he can also drive the **** out of the thing like no one ive seen, but dont put them down too hard, they have the potential to walk an LS1 with minor mods

btw, thanks again for the berger panel haha, the TA is looking great

Good kill!

Seriously, what is up with people being retarded about racing, flipping people off and such? We were all cruising recently and my brother was in his 1994 Z28 when a Lexus IS300 pulls next to him, motions him to roll down his window, and then tells my brother that he's a ***** and his "souped up" Camaro will get smoked by the guy's stock Lexus. The guy then weaves through rush hour type traffic, nearly causing several accidents.

Nice kill!

Despite what some believe WRX's can be every bit a match for our domestic V8's on the street. Doesn't take much to make those things VERY quick!

Not really the regular WRX's. They are high 14 second cars stock, with the '08 models being the slowest. Its pretty hard to get a 3200lb car with 180WHP to beat LS1s, takes a LOT more than a couple ungrades. And then the engine and trans are on borrowed time.

Good kill. Regular rex's suck. And their transmissions aren't far behind.

WRXs are actually low-mid 14s cars... from what I understand, the new ones run ~high 13s.

...maybe if you take the fin off a STi, drill a hole into the middle of it and attach it to a aircraft engine: then mount that real engine onto the hatch. THEN you would have real competition for a LS1 without touching the WRX's longblock or trans.

... you just know some neon lit ground effects big wing giant hood scoop loving subi owner is going "damn man, thats a sick idea! How much do aircraft engines cost? Can you get one with V-Tec??"
