I ran one before and after the tune and the tune helped alot. From a 60 roll he jumped out a car and I reeled him in at the top of 3rd (before I just left him from the start). From a dig or low roll I still dominated (but not as bad).

Ls1's had about 300HP at the wheels though. Not at the crank. Fbodys were hugely underrated.

prolly had about 250whp. and with that amount of PSI it was prolly only GM Stg2, mild bolt on ls1 would of been a better race (but cobalt would prolly still lose)

for once i agree with you.

they are 2950-3000lb
with my approx 280fwhp, id pull away from a stock f-body pretty good.

based on the love u guys always give my slobalt, im sure u seen my vids where i ran with wills 12.9 bimmer from a roll and pulled hard from a G8.....(forget a dig, its a 5.3 60mph car) but a roll its a high 12 second car fighter.

like it was said, the SC cobalts are quick but it takes bolt-ons and tune to run with a tune only tc.

Ughh that wasn't me if you're thinking it was.
Besides I was the driver in a stock Ls1 that put a BEAT DOWN on a GMs1 Cobalt. I mean like 6+ cars and running away, whereas the owner of the Ls1 could only manage to pull on it 1/2 to 1 car.

The beat down was so epic that the video was removed from youtube... Most likely because people still need to believe these Cobalts can hang with Fbodies.

I'd show you the video... but yea. Try to remember it. It was the one where the Fbody DOMINATED the Cobalt.

you still in plainfield? if so and want to play with the cobalt or the camaro, let me know. I'd love to see how my d-max compares to other modded vehicles. I recently beat a newer m3 from a roll, but am fairly sure it was stock (maybe exhaust)

all for fun of course edit, just checked your garage and it seems that the camaro will kick my *** (I "should" be apprx high 12s), but I'd still try for the hell of it

u need to remember drivers and conditions.

im on my fone but if yer feelin up to it, find the vid where i ran with wills bimmer and yanked the G8.

my 106 traps says what id do to a stock camaro.

not sure what i gota do to prove it.

my neighbor in his bone stock 99 refused to race me after i destoyed his lt1 vette.....

ok ok u have a vid where a cobalt lost. thats great.
i own a f'n camaro, and my balt wulda pulled it stock from roll.

3000lb 280whp > 3500lb 302whp (my stock dyno)

ive asked a million times for a friendly roll with a ls1......im still waiting.

yer goat out traps me, no dount u would own me.
but how many ls1's trap over 105 "consistantly?
i can NLS over and over and over at the track. i worked those gears to nail a105 in my z, in the cobalt its snick snick pffffffft.......bam and the announcer usually says wtf?

but to be very honest, the driver was young and maybe not very good. it was a close race both times, but I pulled slowly on him each time. it was bright yellow and we were on essington rd near theodore both times.

I'll run the camaro if ya want and you can get vid, but just go easy on me

I ran a guy with a Saturn Ion Redline (same thing as the blown Cobalts) and he kept up pretty good. Granted, before the race he said "I want every advantage I can get" so he refused to take a passenger to even out my cameraman, wanted HIS roll (bad spot for me), and he took the hit ever so slightly.

MODS:
99 Z28- 6 speed, 3.73s, LS6 intake, lid, longtubes, true duals, tuned
06 Ion Redline-80# injectors,2.8 pulley, shorty header to 3inch catted downpipe, 2.5 catback, k&n CAI, zzp heat exchanger with option b and tuned on e85

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5L5Qu1iSSs8

Big difference between your race & mine was I don't have a cam and this guy was on E85, which apparently wakes them up pretty well.

Hugger is right on. Those cobalts are no joke from a roll. The only way I could take him is from a dig, but we are comparing wad to fwd so it's a no brainer. If someone takes hugger up on it I can record from the finish line. Hugger is a stand up dude and if you are driving stick you better be on your game because the NLS is nasty

Andddd what does that say exactly? My bone-stock WS6 has trapped a best of 108 with the regular 107.x's. Going by your logic I would have no problem walking your Slobalt from a roll!
