Eh probably another one of those wanna-be tech gurus or something.

I actually have a set of 243's off a '03 Tahoe sitting in the garage right now. Getting ready to be all prettied up and going on the 347. Picked those heads up off Ebay for $260 shipped. Can't beat that!

Correct, basically 243's produced from mid-2007 on up. A lot of folk don't know 799=243 that's why you can get the killer deals on them.

Always thought the 5.3L heads were iron until I read into it. Who'da thunk GM would put LS2 heads onto one of there baseline V8's from 2005 on up...

799 heads are bigger combustion chamber (72cc) heads off the LQ4/9 6.0L engines I believe. I also read one thread that said they have smaller valves than the 243 heads. ??

Nope, 799 = 243. You are thinking of the 317 heads.

*I think* that on the 243s that came on actual LS6 motors, you got sodium valves and not on anything else the 243s came on (5.3s, LS2s, LS4s, etc.).

Hollow intake and sodium exhaust valves for the LS6.
