Default Killed by a truck

I was headed home the other night and stopped at a light when I noticed a clean early 2000s swb chevy pickup with a nice lope to it next to me. It peaked my interest but I didn't know if he would be game, or if we would get a clear stretch of road. Anyway, light turns green and we both turn and begin to throw some revs back and forth. At this point its obviously on but we need to get clear of traffic. About a half mile up we manage to ahead of traffic and have a nice straight away on a two lane bridge.

He is right next to me and at this point i'm in fourth going about 40-45 and waiting on some honks when he hits it. I drop to second and spin through most of it as he manages to pull about a car to a car and a half on me. I get some traction at top of second and slam third. I stop his pull and begin to reel him in slowly.....when we hit traffic and have to shut it down. I had managed to cut the lead down to about car I didn't look down but my guess is we ran to about 100. Yeah 45-100 isn't all that exciting but hey I take what I can get. Had we been able to stay in it I'm fairly certain I would have been able to finish reeling him in, but we didn't so I lost.

Got next to him at the light and talked to him, cool guy and nice truck.
Truck Mods: Full bolt ons, cam (didn't get specs but it sounded stout), 4:10 gears, 4000 stall, and a tune.
My Mods: In sig, with tune I put down 351/352. I've since added an LS6 intake, so one would assume I picked up a few hp there.

Always wanted to get me one of those trucks with a lowering kit and the above mentioned mods. A truck to tow the boat and speed all in one.
Good death.

Sounds like a badass truck. It would be sweet to have a truck to kill camaros and mustangs in!

Yeah its alot more fun to drag someones *** in a truck. The look on their face is always priceless. I want to sell my GTO and get another rcsb truck in a bad way. A new single cab chevy with a 6.2L swapped in it would be bad ***. Hey OP where abouts in spring do you live?

rcsb GM pickup's weigh in the low to mid 4000's depending on trim level, which isn't too bad seeing as that's what Chrysler's LX platform is weighing in at.

I wouldn't call it a loss if he got an unexpected jump on you and you started to pull him back in.

I didn't feel bad at all with everything considered. I usually like to do my rolls from the 40-45 range in second, and when I don't have to drop from 4th to 2nd like that while mashing the gas, I usually don't have those kind of traction issues. So like I said, even start with me already in gear, and a bit more room and I'm pretty sure I would have taken him, but technically he got me this time, but he lives around here so i'm sure ill find him again.

Ive been killed by 2 Cammed Trucks out here in Odessa before. I had some traction issues with both but they got me. I think the faster we wouldve gone, the better chance i wouldve pulled them back in. I seemed to stop there pull but by then, we had to shut it down.
