Default 2000 WS6 vs 06 STI

I'm drivin home from work tired as **** and hear a couple cars take off a few cars in front of me. The two cars were a sti and a new eclipse. The sti killed the eclipse without a problem. So after a few miles i get beside the sti with open road ahead. I honk it off and we take off i start to pull a little in 1st have half a car by top of 2nd and he misses third. We go through a few turns up a hill and hit it again on the next straightaway same i pull him through 1st and 2nd by a car then my dumbass misses third. So we make a u-turn and try one more time. We both hit it and are even through 1st then i start to pull. I shut down about 140 and was 4-5 cars ahead. I didn't think that car would run that good but it kinda impressed me. He was a cool guy about it though. He said all he had was a new downpipe.
My ws6 has a flowmaster and the free mods. both 6 speeds

Good kill!

I was definitely suprised that the STI's aren't as fast up top as I thought. I had heard that a couple stock ones had hit a 105 mph, so I thought they'd put up a good fight against an LS1, but my stock G8 is able to pull a stock STI up top.

When I was looking for an AWD/4X4 I had looked into the subies and from what I read they're geared for real quick low end accel and fall off pretty quick at high speeds. Always figured it was to help combat turbo lag.

Ive heard the same thing. Real quick off the line but 100mph+ and they start slowing down. My uncle has an Impreza that he autocrosses. Good for that but not for high speed straight line races. Good kill OP! I would love to run an STI
