This past saturday I was on my way home from the shop and my buddy was
following me on his bike, when we got on the highway he was in the lane beside me and then all of a sudden I see him get in behind me and a dark blue mustang with a cowl hood approaching quickly in the left lane. He came speeding up past me a little bit and then hit the brakes to slow down even and pace me at around 60-65 or so. That's when I noticed it was a Cobra and figured he was looking for a run, so I said what the hey.I downshift into 3rd, honk the horn 3 times and we both nail it.I hear a squeel or something come from his car and didn't think much about it.Well we run up to about 125 or so( I guess? I shifted to 5th) before I have to merge over into his lane because of upcoming traffic, at which time I had about a car maybe a car and a half on him when we shut it down. He pulled up next to me and I signaled him to roll down the window and ask him what he had done to it.The look on his face was classic
a Procharger. I told him nice car and gave a thumbs up. He downshifted and took off, never to be seen again. Oh, I don't know if it made a difference or not but I had the T-tops out and the windows down

281 cipwr,
I should have mentioned to see sig for mods. I would hope that I am pushing around 380-390 to the wheels right now. I hope to be right near 400 with a cutout and a tune(still haven't tuned it since the cam, pulley,tb).

Could have been a ton of driver/traction issues, maybe none. He says he won and i believe him after seeing a vortech cobra at the track running 14.2's

For all the naysayers that dont beleive I won ....
I never said that I KILLED him by 10 car lengths, I said by one, maybe one and a half. It was a close race! I know it was a 99 Cobra because I asked him what year it was and what he had done to it. If you don't believe me, you can bite me, because I have no reason to lie. If I would have lost I would have posted my death to him. Nothing against mustangs here, as I will gladly admit that it was a very sweet looking car the way he had it set up with the hood, wheels, exhaust, and tinted windows.
Sorry for the rant!

look you ****, i didnt say a damn thing about you not out running him since its very hard for me to believe since ive seen numerous procharged cobras running deep into the 12s with just a procharger, so dont be gettin all pissy ,next time please refrain from shitty remarks until yove read it compltly and attempt to understand it rather then "scrolling" through it, maybe youll catch onto somethin someone since non of us called BS on your kill.

First let me apologize for the shitty attitude. Second, Evilstang, you said you have seen Procharged cobras running deep in the twelves, but yet I have also seen bolt on, cam only LS1's also running deep in the 12's and even in the eleven's. Again sorry for the rant, just got a few beers in me ![Cheers!!](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_cheers.gif)
BTW, EVILSTANG, what part of NC are you in?

damn, cam only bolt on LS1's running deep into the 12's....
most should be in the upper to mid 11's. Hell stock internal bolt on cars are running mid to upper 11's now and SC'ed cobras cant even hit 11's LMAO. Granted Bob Cosby is quicker than most blown mustangs and he's friggin SI! Why is that?? Probably because most slap the blower on thinking they can be quick and whip anything around. Its all about setup
my cam only car went 11.50 @ 117 but thats slow compared to most im chasing on here..
with heads now I hope to see 11.0-1's@121ish and thats with only 399.9 hp.... its funny that my 399hp NA is quicker than most of those blown 400+ cobras LMAO
not flaming stangs by any means since i have a 98GT vert A4 that ran a AMAZING 14.7 stock lol. My TA went 11.95@112 stock internal bolt on so
im sure his cam only M6 pulled a car on him from a roll... weight and driver come into play here big time also
that would suck is if Larry01z28's bolt on M6 Z28 pulled up beside that stang and beat him and he's STOCK internal and has run 11.5-6's@118 BOLT ON lol...
bottom line is anything can happen on the street my friends
good kill bro

Nice kill.
Sounds like the car wasnt making good power or the idiot didnt know how to drive.
You will be amazed at the mustang owners that get power adders and are scared of hurting something.
Me -if she dont see redline that day .I never cranked her up

wow i think i was so drunk last night i forgot to hit post quick reply ...
my comment that i tried to make last night was this:
street racing outcomes is based on a ballence between the driver and the setup. you can be the best driver in the world but you might be driving a chevette so your skill does you no good. jdpz28 had the better ballence between the two.
humm looking back on this now it doesent seem as profound as it was last night.

LOL. I now have a history of getting threads locked, so I'll just say that I mostly agree with my good buddy Harold (98TAauto). He can speak for me any day of the week.
