People do that when they don't think they will win.

Thanks for the comments guys..

Even of GT raised the boost 20+psi the C6 ZO6 have 150shot and already made
730+rwhp so GT have no chance either ways..

About the honks well around here if someone honked fast and the other car kept going its his fault.

I had friends who had low 9 second, high 8 second turbo GT/LX's over 10 years ago, so yeah, that's kinda slow to me for a built turbo GT/LX. I just thought it would be at least a low 9, high 8 second car.

Not taking anything away from the Z06 though.. he's definately fast!

I'm sure he didnt run low 9sec or high 9sec with 15psi on pump gas and 90+F Weather.

It's been done. I've seen one run high 8's at HRP in the middle of the summer, and he drove it 50 miles to the track.

"built motor and cammed, ported heads" could mean anything for a fox. The combo of these parts makes a huge difference whether its a mid 10 sec car or high 8s.

Needless to say your Z is one sick ****.

It's not slow per se, but it's certainly not impressive for what has been done to it. Don't take this the wrong way, please. I'm proud of what I've done, but it's not bragging... it's just for comparison's sake:

My 76mm 331c.i. fox body made 762 rwhp at 14 psi. Hardly a match for a sub 600rwhp corvette. Turning up the boost is doable on pump gas. Mine is only at 8.5:1 compression and though I have no desire to run it on anything but a conservative setting, it should be capable of 18-20 psi at that compression.

At the weight you claim the 5.0 to be, it should be mopping the floor with the Z06 even with 200 less rwhp than I made.

I love C6 Z06s. I almost bought one before I came to Germany, and plan to get one when I come back to the states when prices have dropped into the $20k range (early 2013 or so). I love corvettes in general - I own and pamper a '97. Please don't confuse my comments, it's just that I don't think people are getting a fair idea here of what a 76mm turbo fox is capable.

Exactly... even if the stang got the hit, the results would of been the same.

Don't be so sure... raced a local fox, gutted with 490rwhp (me stock @ 440rwhp) and it was a even race until 90mph where i was moving a tad but he had to let off.

A 590-600rwhp Z06 is a 140mph car. Granted, with a 115mph in the 1/8, that would equate to over 140mph but still.. the advantage of where that car (off the line and lightweight.. much like a bike) are not as much in a roll.

I'm not taking away from the fox, really, but the Z is quit a tough car to beat up top like that where hitting 4th, they were well into the 140mph range. I know the Z spun maybe the fox did as well. Its street racing and not drag racing where the track is prepped to hook.

You can find them for about mid 40's, rarely you'll see one for high 30's but for a really low mile Z06, they're in the 50's.
