Absolutely not. You are wanting to compare a list of cars specifically thought out to run what they run, where as I am googling 96-98 cobra bolt on. Apples to oranges. At any rate, that is not the argument, the argument is if a bolt on cobra can pull a stalled/auto f body from a roll, which obviously it did.

I Personally think the times at the Gulfport track are alittle slower than times I have read about on here and times other cars that run there run, Traction is always a problem at that track plus the humidity is factor in summer time. From what I have seen at this track most year cobras stock barely trap higher than 100mph stock. I ran a friends old 96-97 cobra had gears and full exhaust, think the highest I ever saw it trap was 103-104 think it was running 13.3-13.5 I have to look at my old time slips. think I was running around a 13.2-13.3 @106-107 at the time with full exhaust,fipk and ls6.
If I ever see the cobra I ran, I will stop and find out what he had done to it. and update this thread. I still think he had some kind of power adder or alil head and cam work done. I just never had a problem beating that year cobras stock for stock. Just cant see that year bolt on cobra beating me without more done to the car, but who knows, every car is different. Maybe my car is just getting slower. its got less than 60,000miles on it and I dont drive it but maybe twice a month here lately.

I don't understand the big deal anyway. Just because it was an SN95 Cobra doesn't mean that it still had its original 4V or SBF (depending on year). There could have been anything under that hood! Stroker SBF, Mach 1 4V with heads/cams, NO2, Vortech, 351, 3V, the list goes on and on. The friggin thing could have even had a LS swap! Or full bolt-ons and the driver mod. It happens! Sure the original mod motor Cobras were slow: the comp tests that year had 1997 SSs eatin them up. But mod motors have made a lot of aftermarket and factory advances over the last decade and a half, so it doesn't surprise me too much at all.

I asked to see a "full weight" bolt-on car trap 110 like the many full weight bolt-on LS1's that trap 110-112. Since it's the norm it shouldn't be hard to find one.

Our discussion was never about the O.P.'s race. I chimed in when you made it seem like it was radical for a full bolt-on LS1 to trap 112, and that 110mph was the norm for your average bolt-on Cobra. Then you say 110mph with 'a little !weight and I said if that's the case then compare it to a lighter-than-stock f-body like the ones on the 'Quickest List' which only makes sense. Now you disregard that list by stating "You are wanting to compare a list of cars specifically thought out to run what they run" and saying "apples to oranges" which is absolutely ridiculous.

Just curious, because somebody mentioned an HCI 5.0 being a possibility. My dad has a 98 Z28 w/ only an SLP airbox and Hooker Aerochamber Muffler and I have a 95 Cobra w/ AFR 165s, Trick Flow Stage 1 cam, and a Ported Cobra Intake, and while mine pulls harder than my dad's (especially from a stop), I think I'd have my hands FULL if he had the combo you do. It's an auto, to boot, and his car pulls like a freaking train for the 2 mods it has. If it was an NA 4v he was driving his *** off, had weight reduction, spraying, or some combo of the 3, IMHO.

Yes that are all my mods. Just from what Iv seen Id have to agree. My car runs strong from slower rolls and stops, The race we went from was what Id consider a slower roll. I just dont think it could have been just a bolt on cobra of the years mentioned,(weight wise in the car was me alil over 200lbs and my friend prob 250lbs easy, It was the driver Id say 200lbs easy and a kid less than 100lbs in cobra) Iv ran newer body corvetts (I guess there the LS2 vets) 03-04 stock cobras from the same rolls and ran either side by side or pulled them from about the same speed roll I dont think that year cobra can do the same.I know if we went from like a 80-90mph roll they would pull me(vet and 03-04) but I know my car so I try to go from stops or slower rolls plus I dont like racing much over 100-110. dont feel like having my car towed, going to jail, and getting another wreckless driving ticket on my record. If it was just a bolt on cobra I give it props but i just have a hard time believing that, but it is my fault for not pulling over with the guy and finding out what he had done to it.
If you run into the guy again, see what he has done. There's a guy on Corral, ModularSpeed who runs in the 11's (11.7xs and 11.80s) with bolt ons, to be specific, here is the PM me sent me, because I asked about his car:

I ported the intake, NOT short runner....just a port job
JBA 1-3/4" Mid Length Headers, with 3" off road H pipe
JLT RAI / 90LMAF
Tune.....thats it.
Of course it has suspension, shifter, 4.56 gear

I think it's safe to say that most cobras that race have pulled a little weight out, but nothing ridiculous, unlike some of the cars on the si list, hence apples to oranges. I thinking removing the spare tire and jack is a little different than cutting sheet metal. Like I said, I spent 5 minutes with google and found several vids of cobras running those times, I'm sorry they don't list exact weights for you, but I'm sure it's not far from stock.

I think its not the norm to hit 110 because there are a lot of 4v owners who don't like the big gear that is needed to hit 110 traps. Is it to say its not possible to hit that mph with bolt-ons?? One can argue that based on their findings. I think if there were more 4v's that were geared properly they would be more common. But many owners are scared to run anything over 4.30's. But it is possible with the right parts at full weight.
