After that 10-12k miles, it will turn into, "give them about 50k to really break in." Haha.
Hype. This reminds me of a story a guy told me last weekend about his 02, 2-valve GT with catback, or-h and gears beating a new SS. He said he saw the SS badges on the side. I lol'd.
That being said, it doesn't look like a bad car, I'm just not a Mustang guy.

Wow, that's embarrassing!
Even with it being fresh off the lot I would think a car that is supposed to dyno 360, 380 or whatever they put down would easily walk away from an LS1 w/ just a lid. Guess not. What a joke! lol

uhhm.. as mentioned earlier, i'm pretty sure the SS had an unfair weight advantage. swap drivers/passengers and i think the 5.0 would have walked the SS.
trust me, my fat *** knows how this **** works.

BTW i dont believe in the break-in hoopla. You probably need 500miles at the most, although this car didnt even have that.

The problem here is that you LS1 Fbody guys haven't dealt with the break-in issues for 8+ years. I remember all the posts where guys kept telling and retelling the guys with new cars that there LS1 wouldnt be broken in and making its best power until 2,000 or 4,000 or in alot of cases/opinions, 10,000-20,000 miles!
Having seen this first hand with my brothers '01 Firebird that got faster and faster as the miles racked up I have zero doubt about it. I drove that thing as much as him, and against my '78 Z28 his car went from dead even to pulling one car (60-100ish) to at the end pulling 3 cars on me.
You guys that bought LS1's brand new know what I'm talking about. It will not make a turd into a gemstone, but these 5.0's should pick up a couple tenths/car lengths with some breakin miles under there belts.
^^^^ All that means, of course, is that you **** jobs that are still driving bone stock LS1's will have to start worrying in a few months. Or just invest a couple hundred dollars into your cars ya cheap bastards!

At least couple 100 miles there is a proper new car break in period. These guys better get use to there cars before they go racing to prove all the hype!

I beat a LS1 in my stock 2v twice.
That means 2v Mustangs are faster.
It does. It's the internet.
That also means all 2v Mustangs are going to take LS1s.
Right?
BTW I hope anyone with a 5.0 is at least breaking that thing in before letting loose with it..

Great daylight video! Anything is possible on the street. I highly doubt that SS is bone stock. Most people on the street these days racing don't race bone stock cars. Other than that props to the TBSS driver for the video, but I wish they would have popped the hood on the Camaro to show us that is really was bone stock so there isn't that shadow of doubt looming over this.

I have heard that about 03/04 cobras too though. We'll have to wait and see. I for one am surprised at the outcome, but happy about it nonetheless
