If they are as fast as they are supposed to be then taking a 1 + car jump it should have held the LS1 off but what happened is what happens in alot of LS1 Mustang races, the better gearing of the Mustang gets it an early lead and then the LS1 walks by it. Its like nothing has changed.

If anything the Camaro driver sucked...
This just boils down to the fact that these 5.0's are never going to live up to the hype created by Ford, the magazines, and the shop car(s).

Did you see the huge hit that Mustang got? He was out over a carlength before the Camaro even hit it! And he still lost!

i dont under stand why anyone was excited about this stupid 5.0 anyways it shares nothing with tho old 5L that was somewhat impressive. its a freshly enginered motor its gonna have problems like everything else new i.e. recals and bad parts. plus like many of you have said you dont know how it will take to mods, it might be a slug and barely net anything from bolt ons.

If anyone thinks a stock LS1 Fbody is going to take a stock 2011 GT with decent drivers they are smoking crack.
Plain and simple.
Uh, it's a lot better than the old 5.0

the new 5.0 is faster then any stock ls1 4th gen. one video which seems rather questionable isnt going to make me think other wise. just use common sense, how would he be behind then come out and win like that? going by that logic from a roll a stock ls1 4th gen is the fastest bone stock non corvette vehicle gm has made in the last 20 years.
i mean if it could pull on a 2011 5.0 like that, which runs door to door basically with a 5th gen ls3, which is a bit quicker then a stock ls2 gto/cts-v..... it would be just that damn fast.

Neither Ford or GM owners will keep them stock anyway.

Not quite. The original 302 from 67(?)-83ish(?) was actually 302 cubic inches. the "5.0" from the early Foxbody days through 95 in the SN95 cars, was 301 and some change making it 4.9L; it still rounded up to 5.0 however. I may be wrong on the dates, if anybody knows for sure please correct me.

whether they have the same displacement or not this new motor still has completely different top end. if anything it is closer to the 4.6 engines so i dont see why everyone is so excited about it its just a lil more displacement still stupid modular crap
