A few of my friends have kinda been underrating my 02 SS in regards to performance. Its not by anymeans the fastest thing on the streets.. But it will hold its own.

I've been getting the "You wont break out of the 14's at the track!" comments.. And all I can do is laugh because they obviously dont know **** about the car.

A friend has a cammed 89 Mustang GT (one of the **** talkers) and thought it would walk my "SS with only exhaust". I kept telling him that I was ready to run whenever he wanted too... He kept putting it off. No big deal.. Keep talking **** and keep adding fuel to the fire..

He took me for a ride in it today (never been in a 5.0 before) and I was pretty impressed, but thought he would need more to hang with me. Then I kept thinking that it may be faster than it feels, and that I shouldnt get my hopes up just yet.

A few of my friends and myself went for a ride to a hang out spot.. the kid FINALLY decided to line up.

I instantly start putting lengths on him (2-3 before 2nd gear ended) and then shut down. The look on his face was priceless after the race... Wish I had a picture.

He decided he had enough for a little bit.. Then he came back for more.

I give him the jump.. By the top of second, I was 2 cars out front... I bang 3rd and then put another 4-5 lengths on him.. By the middle of 4th.. He was a solid 10 cars back.

His car went 13.7 at the track as a personal best with his current set up.

Needless to say, I shut him and a few of my friends up.

Cammed 5.0 - 0

He's planning on putting nitrous in it soon... So I may be doing my cam swap sooner than expected.

Nice kill. Always satisfying to shut the **** talkers up. It seems like you would want to have half a clue before you talk smack to someone, but I guess that isn't always the case.

He needs a damn fine H/C/I setup on the stock displacement to be able to run a bolt-on SS. Nice puppy kicking.

a lot of people misinterpret the sound from the exhaust as an actual power measure. yeah, 5.0's sound great but until now thats it.

Good kill. But some people should try to research other Cars before they talk smack about them. Next time if u run him and he has nitrous then u should only put about 5 cars on him.

But that's the problem though-most people just go on "what they've heard, or what they've been told." The majority of people automatically associate Mustang with being the fastest cars on the road without even knowing the facts...

06 6.0 GTO

Bingo, my dad had an o6 mustang GT in bright red so our driveway matched lol and one day my best friend with a red SRT-4 was over for a family party and we had the cars lined up, and EVERYBODY out of like 30 people commented on how me and my friend probably wished we could be as fast as the mustang, even tho we were both quicker we didnt look the part like the mustang i guess.

Same thing with the police every time i drove the mustang they dead starred it down while in the GTO they honestly did not throw a glance.

But hey let people think what they want

With a 12.8? Depends what boltons they have. Intake, headers, tune and tires should be 12.7-12.8 pretty easy.

Congrats on the win. I had some guy that would not stop talking chit about my header only 06 gto. Anyways we finally lined up and he was Camd with 4.10s VS me with Headers and from a dig I put 2 foot ball fields on him. Having it on Video was priceless

3rd gear is pretty strong in my car. Thats where I usually get them. I've got the gear ratio of an 03 Cobra.
