Im talking about straight line performance at least thats what i thought.... so the vette absolutely dwarfs a 10.69 with bolt ons in the 1/4 with bolt ons with a 100 shot? Stop watching top gear Lol!

Uhhhh, this IS LS1tech, is it not? I don't really care for mustangs, I only drive one because it was a sweet deal at the time. I have an 86 trans am and thats where my knowledge is. I was telling the truth, when I said thats just what I heard and that I'm not a pro on mustangs. YOU mustang guys on LS1tech are here to give the real knowledge on them, since hey, thats what this sites really about right? Mustangs?

The handling and aerodynamics of the Vette is just far superior IMHO. I love the 5.0, but I'd have a problem paying that much for one. I could buy a much better car slightly used for that price.

Where in my post did I say thats what he told. Just giving some random info since we are comparing the 5.0l to a LS3 vette now

Maybe theres hope for you to see the light for the underligned sentence..

Just to be sure, you think a boltons/100shot 5.0l GT would kill a boltons/100shot LS3 Vette?

Yes, an LS3 Vette would kill an equally modded 5.0 Mustang. And while I haven't seen an LS3 Vette with those exact mods, I have seen a LS1 A4 C5 with bolt-ons and 100 shot run 10.6x. The new 5.0 is simply not in the same league as a LS3 C6. I don't watch top gear, never have, probably never will... not that it matters, it just take a little common sense to know that what you're trying to argue is retarded.

No sir. It's on the back burner (waaaayyyy back burner)...other priorities ya know.
It needs about $3-4K worth of maintenance/upgrades though (clutch, flywheel, brakes, etc).

I laugh every time I see some new member post that.

Fact is that statement was wrong. You stated it like you 'knew' and were knowledgeable. It is incorrect. An 03/04 (and I believe 01) 4V head outflows a 3V. The only reason why you see more 3V's with higher HP on a stock short block is the VVT tuning. IF you get a knowldgeable S197 tuner the tune can be stretched to handle a tad more HP across the board than a NE 4V. Having said that, I still would limit either car with roughly 450RWHP no matter what. Why?....the internals are still made out of hte same material and are pretty much the same rods and pistons. ALl mechanical components have a stress cracking point regardless of tune. IDC how good a tune is....revving it up and driving the **** out of it will kill it eventually. Time is of the essence. A spot on tune will only stretch the life, it will not make it immortal to stress and the breaking point.

that's my opinion, some disagree and that's their opinion.

3v 215cfm.

the reason for more 3v power is not vct. vct is locked out on cammed 3v. the port dynamics, combustion chamber, and no#.1 is the intake manifold is the best ever on a ford. makes power at 6600-7000.
