And arctic, a 12.3 is a big difference to a 12.6 in the quarter. Hows this qoute, "It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile, winning is winning!"

I obviously know it can handle more power stock for stock. Were talking about a bulletproof forged 4 valve vs a maxed out at 500 hp 3 valve. I'm not that bad. What I was saying is that a supercharged 3 valve will respond better to mods, like more boost. A mustang mag did a test and the 3 valve with an identicle setup as a 4 valve made more power on the dyno. Both had the identicle roots blower and everything. The 3 valve has better heads for boost, even though it's a valve short. The 3 valve motors give better throttle response too and don't lag as much off the punch. I'm no mustang pro, but I'm just giving you what I read in the mag and online.
The 4Vs are better for boost. The 3 valve will probably make more power on the same level of boost because the compression ration is much higher. The Cobras only have an 8.5 to 1 compression ratio (designed to handle higher levels of boost). The 3 valves ratio is much high which allows it to see more power from the same boost. However, it is limited by the CR in how much boost it can handle.
A guy down the street from me has a 2008 Shelby GT. He took it to some shop in NY (I think) to have a supercharger added to it. He then somehow got this shop to certify it through Shelby as a Shelby GT/SC. I think they add to the end of the production number or something like that.

We have this video of the LS1 Camaro winning against the 5.0l so all fbodys are faster ..see the point?
Well, I dont think I'm complaining like a little girl, I'm giving my opinion on this subject and I dont agree with you most of the time because I'm GM biased and you are Ford biased. I believe the video, but I suspect theres more weight reduction to it. I dont give a sh*t if its the case or no, just my .02
This is internet, do you think everybody in the world will just agree with all numbers, vids and reply you post?!?? I'll even tell you that usually, I agree with the things you say(I know you dont give a damn, just an exemple).
so what?

2) There is a difference between having a street racing video between two cars (one of which is BRAND new with a driver that has minimal seat time), and having a video of a car at a track running a number.
I don't see what the big deal is about these magazine times being quoted. lol That same guy (Evan Smith) took not one but two bone-stock down to the filter LS1 F-bodies to a 12.8's @ 108/09. Bone-stock LS1 F-bodies have ran 12.60's with nothing but drag radials as well. LS1 F-bodies (just like mine) have wen't 10's with bolt-ons and a 100-shot with minimal weight reduction. So the 2011 GT is a few ticks faster than the 1998 Camaros/Firebirds. Let's celebrate.

I'm noticing.

I have no stock invested either, and I also have no allegiance to any American manufacturer... but it is nice to see that Ford is making a car that I could buy new and not make many compromises.

If your talking about a regular c6 vette it most certainly does compare.....in race form bolt ons only no cams and a shot of 100...they are both in the tens small advantage going to the vette.

No, it most certainly does not. The Vette is still much quicker both in acceleration and top speed, and I'm sure the handling is no comparison as well. Plus the Corvette is 100000000 times sexier... Small advantage my ***.

A cammed LS3 vette is no joke BTW. 500rwhp cam only is very doable. The data is available, we cant say that about the 5.0l.

1) I am not Ford biased at all. If you ever paid attention to anything I said, you would understand that.
2) There is a difference between having a street racing video between two cars (one of which is BRAND new with a driver that has minimal seat time), and having a video of a car at a track running a number.
Or you could just be happy that the American car market is alive and well.

I agree this will keep the American pony cars market alive for a while, which is a good news in the automotive industry!
