Default 05 CTS-V vs 03 Cobra

My mods are in my sig, my buddy has pulleys, JLT Intake, Long tubes, Mcleod clutch, rear bushings, heat exchanger.

Went from 60-110 short race but its all we had room to do.

We were door to door until i granny shifted 4th(stock clutch which locked me out of 4th on motor about 20 minutes before the race) so i dropped to his passenger door but when i got into 4th i instantly pulled that half car back. Unfortunately due to traffic we let out as I started to creep out on him. If we could have run to 130 i would have been ahead a 1/2 car to a car.

He wants a rematch from a 2nd gear roll which i dont care so well get that set up soon. Hell probably pull me since im on 245 GSD3 street tires(damn V diff). Im considering upping the shot to mess with him so i can reel him in hopefully. I believe he said he made 47xrwhp somewhere around there.

Good race! I know I've suprised alot of cars once I started spraying. It's funny though, how even when you don't use it, you might as well say you did since no one believes you, haha.

Nice run, should have been an even race considering the weight difference between the V and Cobra and slight horsepower advantage you had on him. Nice job

Nice run. How big of a shot are you spraying?

I really doubt it since his CTS-V makes around 500whp on the NO2 and bolt on cobras make upper 400's-lower 500's. He would of gotten walked all over.

Bolt on Cobras do not make lower 500's. Calling a ported blower a bolt on is really a stretch.

Really? I have 2 friends with bolt on cars that made low 500's on a mustang dyno. One made 518rwhp with bolt ons and a $300 methanol kit. No ported blower just a good tuner and bolt ons. I never called a ported blower a bolt on either. Not sure where you brought that in from

Just because a dyno graph says 518rwhp doesn't mean the car actually made that
power. 518rwhp isn't happening with bolt ons.

Because a ported blower is needed to hit 500rwhp.

You've got me confused. I know some dynos need to be re-calibrated but the tuning place we use is very accurate and always within 5 hp of the other 2 dyno centers in the area. Why would I lie? and yes 500hp is possible without the ported blower. Stegmeier ported eaton blowers will make the power easier and upwards in the 550rwhp range but the stock eaton can make 500whp. I believe you though because you built your car... I will shut up and just learn now

Actually if you'd like to prove me wrong have Livernois put your car back to bolt ons, add a 2.93 upper and a 4lb lower and show me the dyno sheet. Gaurantee you will be in the 500hp range if not over

Sure. I'll completely rip my car apart to prove you wrong. Believe what you want.

LOL... SilverSRT-8 there's no way a 03/04 Cobra will make 500+rwhp with a non ported blower.

If you want to learn for yourself google it. It's been done over and over. The blower spins alot more rpms than a stock eaton should but with that pulley combo and bolt ons it's more than possible. I've seen it first hand

thats a fact jack, and there's more. ported blowers pushing 17psi generate a shitload of heat. 515 is the average for ported guys around here.

That's where the methanol came into the picture on my buddies helping to lower intake temps causing the car to make 518whp. I'm not saying it's a good idea to make a stock eaton produce that power...I am just saying it has been done many times
