Default 2009 A7 370z vs A6 2009 bmw 335i

doing some testing on some long straights and curves on the moon... i came across a bmw 335i

this was by far one of the funnest races ive ever had. id been driving behind this guy for a bit. and we was coming up on a long long old backroad. and we was both behind grandma in whatever she was driving. he finally decided to pass her and i just went ahead and pass also and then realized he was staying on it so i gave chase. we was going about 40mph and around 110 i caught up. well we come to a sharp curve almost 90 degrees and i figure after this turn im gonna goose it and see if he is game, well i didnt need to. he jumped on it coming out of the turn. so i did the same. he probably had about a 2 car lead and I pulled by him around 85mph and by 120 i had about 2 cars on him. and that was with him having the advantage of getting on it first.

so all in all i think the Z did well. those cars are fairly stout on the top end by a video someone else posted show one keeping up with a ls1 fairly well. and from what i can tell there low 13 second cars trapping around 106ish. i was able to run him down consistently. he followed behind me for a few more runs. with the same results. on one i even let him get the hit first about 3 cars back and he was only able to get about a car behind me before i started pulling away. so it was some really good runs. i wish i had my camera with me.

i seen him pull into a driveway and realized i knew the guy. i worked with his father about a year ago. so we talked for a bit. said he didnt think i was going to be able to run him down from behind. anywho i had fun. and was pumped i took down a one of the newer TT 335i's.

Im just glad im finally getting some runs around here. went from an old pickup truck to a BMW lol

Nice run. Love those 370Z's, especially in that bright blue color.

Wow good job! Those 335i beemers are, by some magazine guys definition, just as good a car as the M3. I woulda figured it would be a good even race, not you pulling away on the top end. Nice!

don't be all that surprised that you pulled on the top end, they really are not that strong on the top end. I had a run in with one on the street and pulled him on a roll, and then from a dig. The higher the speed the more I pulled on him. They are very impressive for what they are, and how easy it seems to make them fairly quick.

from the few time slips ive seen there bottom 13's around 106ish. not shabby at all. and saying watch out for the juiced ones is kinda silly. thats goes for any car. and from the outcome. id most likely put a worse hurting on them with a nitrous shot ^^

Its how quick and easy it is to give them a nice jump in HP. I put in a $500 piggyback and dual cones. Didn't touch anything else on the engine, and my 335i sedan runs 12.3 at 118mph with a miserable 2.1 sec 60'. Still quiet, and gets 30mpg on the fwy. That some pretty decent performance, up there with a LS3 Vette with no sacrifice in driveability, or cruise MPG.

That would be under optimal conditions.

The nice thing about the N54 is that one of those tunes bumps up the HP and torque. Thats the nice thing about TT cars is that the more boost you get, the torque climbs respectably. I had a G37 with the same engine that is in the 370z and I couldn't get more than 270wtq with bolt ons and a tune. Just not responsive the way the N54 is granted that is a comparison between NA and FI.

335s aint no joke when modded. Had one pull on me on the highway, and I can walk away from an A7 370z and a nismo 370z.
