Default 94 Z vs SRT-4

Well tonight me and one my buddies who has a 2005 srt-4 decided to do a few races.

Race 1
Went from a 30 roll, I started pulling he missed 3rd, and i braked early.

Race 2
30 roll again, he beat me by like 3 lengths.

Race 3
30 roll, he missed 3rd and i ended up winning.

Race 4 and 5
Went from a stop, and i beat him by like 3 lengths, shut it down at about 120 or so.

My Mods:
SLP CAI, BBK shortie headers, 2.5 true dual exhaust.
His Mods:
Exhaust, biggest intercooler you can get, wastegate actuator, boost controller.

I was overall pretty happy with the results.

SO the only race he didnt miss a gear he won, typical they are beasts from a roll.

There is a launch control system, if he wants to be fast from a dig on the street, available for these cars that does wonders, my car was being out launched every time on the street by one an SRT-4 equipped with one of those.

Good races! Those cars run hard from a roll. I've seen a few launch out well from a dig, but they always have slicks on them.

I almost put a SRT-4 motor in a 99 Neon R/T for sleeper potential, but ended up selling it.

I'm surprised you beat him with just those mods in an LT1.....congrats on the kill! I don't know why all the SRT4 guys put a huge frontmount on as one of thier first mods. The stock intercooler is fine unless your running a ton of boost on those cars.

My bro had one. 22 PSI on the stock turbo, stage 1 computer, intake, wastegate actuator and full turbo back exhaust. Thing made 260 whp on a mustang dyno and would peg the speedo like nothing on the highway! That car was insane. He use to pull M3's and all kind of fast cars and they would be in aw, lol. I would have never even tried to race him in my mustang.

the stock IC gets heatsoaked after one race on higher than stock boost.

I heard that the stock intercooler they come with is one of the most efficient factory intercoolers made. My brothers made dead nuts 260 WHP @ 22 PSI 3 runs in a row on the dyno. They were the most consistent dyno pulls I've ever seen, so in my experience it's pretty efficient. From what I remember it was a good 75-80 degrees out too.

srt4 arnt that fast!! I raced one his race from a roll and he was running a 50 trim on e85 boosted to 20pds with cams and i pulled him pretty good. It takes alot for a little motor like that to beat any ls1. Wow i forgot you have a lt1...lol my bad but still alot you can do to the lt1.

It's unfortunate that you're so far away.

E85 and 50 trim and you pulled him off a roll? Very strange. And even stranger is that the SRT was cammed.
