Elevation affects some cars differently than others. Forced induction and nitrous assisted engines create their atmosphere and are usually less effected by elevation than N/A vehicles.
Based on this thread... I'm not convinced you'd know a real racer if he slapped you...

281 ci is more impressive than 350 ci huh? GM has been using a 4.6l in newer cars since 93.. 32 valve ohc northstar producing more power than fords pi mod motor stock. 300 hp 295 ft lbs. when i owned my seville sts i would beat up on 5.0's all day with less cubes in a heavier car, so what? it takes more money to make less cubes just as fast..who cares if it is more of a technological feat - going fast is about going fast any way you split it. http://www.chrfab.com/Engines.htm check out the engine for 18k with weiand supercharger.. 281 ci putting down 600 hp on 9 psi. drop it in a z28, bolt it to a t56 and go eat some cobras. 3300 whipple on the same engine 800 hp. fact is its cheaper to do with an ls1.

To get a smaller motor to move as much air as a bigger motor it needs to have all the bells and whistles (i.e. multi valves/cams) it can get. And even then, it isn't enough to match the airflow of a larger inch motor.

Isn't that comparing a 4v to a 2v car though? I don't think that would be fair comparison. Granted the cubes are the same, but thats like comparing a 04 2v GT motor to a 04 4v Mach1. The 4v will win hands down.

LOL I'm guessing you either talked to Artic, gregrob or you've seen me on corral. Lower's getting ported as we speak, intake is just stock now. Before the tune I want to put on some LT's and bigger MAF...

There ya go... If you have no argument against the facts... go after the person... Don't worry though... I'm not a "REAL RACER" because I don't race where you race... Of course, I don't street race. I'll let you "REAL RACERS" have all that...

I don't know about how much power it's made, but John Mihovetz' 4V 4.6l mod motor has run a best of 6.31 @ 229mph. So, you know he's gotta be making a decent amount of power. I've heard 2300hp, it has to be somewhere around that, but I don't know how accurate it is.

It was still a 4.6l Zac. The car was pretty insane in its class.
I've heard 2300hp, but I don't know. Lots of pros don't like to release numbers.
And yeah, it had B heads Bitemark. But they also had the absolute **** ported out of them by Livernois if I'm not mistaken.
And wow Newskool. That sure is pathetic...![Tongue](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_tongue.gif)
If I got something with a mod motor, it would be an A4 Mach 1.![Nod](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_nod.gif)
Too bad they're holding their value somewhat.

Being that I've been a UAW Ford employee; I've got this bad thing about talking **** to all the mustang guys...(Most of them have S197s w/ exhaust and cai.) Although, I do think that properly buiilt 4v's are awesome! Once you got a motor past 1000hp you've done a good job.
Ford always was good with the OHC motors... The 429 Cammer motor was a diamond in the rough. If I won the Powerball, I'd have a 69 fastback with a big John Kaase stroker and a 6 speed...
