Question #7... I'm not saying to expect that time from all LT4 Corvettes, but it certainly isn't out of the question for a ~290hp/3,300lb car. And there are '96 Vettes that are LT1, but they are all automatics. Anybody that runs a 13.7 anywhere near sea-level in an LT4 Corvette needs lessons.

No one has claimed LT1 Vettes run 12s.

Looks like a close race OP. The ole Z06 held its own!!
I hope youre going to push 500+whp if you wanna race a ZR1...
What years SS? Cause any good boltons LS1 SS will hit 12s easily. I would worry more about any GM LSx cars with boltons than the casual boltons mustang GT. Of course Termies are in another league.
What are youre new numbers?
My friend has a heavily modded Evo X with turbo upgrade, intercooler, methanol, exhaust, etc..I want to race him. He think hes sitting somewhere around 450hp.

OP, good kill! Love the top end charge of those Z06's.
Great looking Evo you got there.
It's all in that driver thing. LT1 vettes are definitely capable of mid 13's with a good driver.
As far as the high 12's, with some good driving, a high 12 isn't impossible for an LT4 vette, although it would take a tire and some good weather to see that with most drivers.

Good run.
Its weird however this guy i know has an EVO X, with full intake, huge FMIC, full exhaust and tune (said he was pushing 24psi) and yet i smashed him off a roll, like it was just no contest, He had no passenger and my passenger asked if he was really racing. We did a bunch of runs and even with him taking the hit i would just pull away from him like non other.
Very weird.

I think the real problem with those cars is that there just aren't enough of them around at the local drag strips. Look at how many LS1 fbodies are out there, and how few people have been able to get them into the 12's (compared to the number out there racing). Now figure that the LT4 vettes were only a one year wonder, and even then, only the 6-speed cars, and it's easy to see why you don't see too many hitting 12's. Hell, most people have never even seen an LT4 vette at the drag strip.

Back in the late 90s when Pomona dragstrip was still available for the street legal drags, I had a chance to run an LT4 vette a few times. It was a really hot day and I was running 13.4s that day at about 107 bone stock. He was running right around the same ETs I was at about 106. I would always creep by him right at the finish, but it was a hell of a race. On a cooler day at Pomona when I was stock, I ran a best of 13.2 at 108 so I can imagine the LT4 would have improved similarly. I think 12s were in reach in perfect conditions for both vehicles as they were a good race.
You're experience there with the LT4 vette is right in line with my experience/info. Those vettes are badass rides that are totally underrated in my book.

I love those neck and neck races at the drag strip! Whenever I line up with someone like that I always try to run them as many times as possible.
