Default Redneck stayed close!

Ran into a early 2000's Chevy truck this morning going to work. Jacked up, kinda big tires, smoke stack between cab and bed. Ran with me 0-60, then pulled two lengths from 60MPH to 80mph. Pretty fast monster truck! Figured I would run into one sooner or later in Texas! LOL!

Just to clarify: he was right with you to 60 then YOU pulled 2 cars on him from 60-80mph? Deisel I assume, right?

^^ If deisel, how much smoke was pouring out of them stacks? If not a deisel, that must have been one helluva gas motor!

not a fast truck at all, your just ******* slow!! lol j/k some of those trucks can add 250hp with the push of a button with the bulldog or bullydog programmers, ive seen em run low to mid 11s!! some are very quick.

i have three friends with cummins powered trucks that will outrun LT1 cars all day long and they have nothing but a chip and straight pipe. my bothers cummins will hang dead even with my LS1 M6 car on the high way and i've had a dirtymax out run me on the high way. it had nothing but the PPE hot +4 and exhaust.(that programmer adds 425hp so they clame)

i doubt a cummins hanging with a ls1 on the freeway. my buddy has a 2500 cummins like 03ish with intake, dp, and tuner he lost to a caliber srt4 with waste gate on the highway. but from a dig that thing lights up all 4s and gets a little sideways but after that its not that fast

Would have to be one stout as hell deisel to hang with a properly driven LS1 Fbody on the freeway: in diesel-land, mid 12 second trucks hit the traps in the 101-108mph range. And nearly all well modded diesel trucks seem to run 12's. Extremely hard to get them faster than that and not end up with a drag only setup.

It's a double edged sword: truck aero's are god awfull: hence they hit a wall over 100mph, and they launch in 4x4 mode so all that drivetrain loss is adding up quick at high speed.

I have a crew cab 4x4 Duramax with a 6" lift and 35's and with nothing but a Bullydog programer it runs mid 13's. It leaves in 4wd under boost like it has a trans brake! LOL! Thats where the stock but chipped or programmed ones get their et from, but from a 60 or 70 roll, they push so much air they just cant run with a decent car. Diesels have come a long way in the last ten years, and looks like the power war is still going strong, looks like Ford just upped the ante after struggling years behind the Duramax.

unfinishedbizniz you ever come north of houston near spring, conroe, new caney, or cleveland? there is one cummins powered truck in that area that i would like to meet someone that knew something about it, it has giant mud flaps with the punished emblem on them and twin turbos. my brother has met some people that said they seen it put down 900hp through an auto trans and 38's

Ppl in them are usually ricers. They always mash on it to get smoke to come out and act like they have the worlds fastest car. Only a few that aren't that I have seen

haha, totally true! a friend of mine has a 04 f250 powerstroke, jacked way up with big tires, chip, and exhaust.... (the thing still cant get out of its own way!) and he always hammers on it, blowing black smoke everywhere!!! oh and hes on his 2nd tranny... hmm i wonder why? driving around on the "race mode" beatin the crap out of it!

i did see a couple duramax's at the drag-strip last month running 12.6 and 12.8! they were sleeper trucks! extended cabs, stock height/stock tires!!! i love it! one of 'em actually towed a car to the track! lol!

No it does ******* not. Do some research, sheesh...

A decent running car should hang with or rail a GOOD running truck from a roll. The trucks RAPE people out of the hole on the street though. Nothing like a 30psi 4x4 boosted launch.

I used to be in the diesel thing big time and my car is so much easier and cheaper to make faster it's kind of retarded to sacrifice the reliability of the diesel trucks just to make them fast. I'm in the process of putting my truck back closer to but still with about an additional 150 hp reliably.
