Default Maserati Spyder vs Me

I havent raced him yet since my cars tranny is getting worked on but when (next week maybe if whether is good..) I do i promise to share it and maybe even post a vid. but i was wondering if i could even keep up with him hes got 390 fwhp where as i have around 340-350 fwhp while his car is much lighter than mine. Would my torque make a difference? Im sure his torque is low...

I wish ya luck man. Maseratis are friggin awesome though so I bet he puts up a fight and a half. Be prepared for a loss especially up top, just in case not saying you will.

If you hook better than him and can bang gears well I think you may beat him.

Ummmm, Hold on a minute.....

When has horsepower ever won a street race? Look at the specs on the Maserati. 390 HP @ 7000 RPM !!!! 333 ft/lb @4500 RPM.

My thoughts:
1) Unless you can't shift a car to save your life; are too busy filming the race; or have a really large passenger, that Maserati will be looking at Trans Am taillights.
2) Post the outcome so I can see if I am wrong about this Italian Sports car being slow.

He means fly wheel horsepower not front wheel horsepower. That one always confuses me to. Also from what I've seen of maseratis they aren't something to laugh at on the top end. I'm not sure about their quarters though.

Opps!! Thanks for clarifying that for me! BTW, I ran a Maserati sometime last year from about a 40-50 mph roll. I jumped out ahead maybee and held it all the way up to about 120 mph. He was at my back bumper the whole time. I neither pulled him nor did he reel me in either. I am not sure which maserati it was, but it was brand new. When we got off the parkway, we chatted at the next light. He had about a million excuses why he lost.- he told me he didn't want to rev it too high. Trust me he was revving it high! Anyway, all I know was that it was one of the latest model maseratis out there. At first, when I came up on him I thought it was a Ferarri. Beautiful car.

well, while your tranny's getting worked on. . . put some patriot heads and new pistons and cam in it

i'm no authority, but i say you win, seeing as people in stock F-body's have run right around 12.75, right?

umm..you should lose unless he weighs like 3800pounds.

about this Italian Sports car being slow.
slow like having more hp than the trans am? WTF?

oh yeah by the way, the Modena only has like 280-270 torque, but it runs with z06s. why?

usable rpms. those 390hp already factored in tq.he has 390hp BECAUSE of the torque and the RPMS.

Hate to say it, but if the F-Body is somewhat stock (which this one is), the Maser is gonna win if the guy can drive worth a ****. They're nice cars, pretty damn quick to. 12s stock.

I think that's the car I ran about a year ago (maybee a little less) It was a hard top though. I pulled just enough to keep him by my rear quarter up to about 100-110. I expected to get beat but was surprised. So was he. He had excuses though. You'll beat him if you don't **** up. And shut down at a reasonable speed. He's got a better top end it seems.

I think it's a definite that he's got a better top end, it doesn't just seem that way.

Motortrend did a 2000 WS6 at 13.4 in the 1/4 and 5.0 0-60. Looks like it will be CLOSE.
