Default 2009 370z vs 2009 cobalt ss

ran it 2 times. i know the person who drives it. and they had been spreading rumors they had already smoked me.... and yet we have never raced. we even called them up to setup a race and they no showed a few weeks ago. well......

I pulled out on the road and i seen them also turning on about 200 yards back.and i put the car in manual and i kept it at about 40ish mph in 2nd gear. I seen them quickly coming up behind me. and then as they approached they slowed down some and as they got to my rear bumper I heard them downshift and try to take off..and fly by me the cobalt got to being dead even with me before i started pulling back and i just looked over and smiled and shook my head.

by 110 i had about 4 cars. then later down the road going about 55 mph i was in 3rd and from about 3 cars back the\ cobalt went wot again and i again was ready for it and it got maybe within one car of me before i started pulling away and again i pulled multiple cars before i shut it off. I already knew it wouldnt be a contest but the owner has been telling about all these races they have had beating all these diff people in town some faster than me LOL.

anyhow 370z>cobalt ss twice

on a side note. i love the manual shift mode in the a7... its fun making the 2nd/3rd gear chirp

Good kill! I absolutely detest guys that can't line them up properly and think it's acceptable to start a race with a fly by.

Cobalt a turbo or supercharged?

it was def stock
hard to imagine multiple cars though, wonder if he missed the NLS.

good kill.......love the 370 line (z & g)
i cant wait to line up with a 370, it gets real ugly for the 350's.

im pretty sure it was stock. and yea it was a turbo. I've rode in the car myself a while back. stock the slowbalt ss's arent much. it would have been a lot worse if we had went from a dig. but still beat it pretty bad with them getting the hit first. the gap i was making it probably would need at least another 50-60 hp maybe or more to make it a decent race.

from a dig......you'd tear me up no doubt

good kill.

But dont sleep on the cobalt, with even a factory G.M. tune it turns that thing into a beast, and with a aftermarket tune its even faster.

i have a 2007 ss/sc and i only have an intake and the gmstg2 and i beat a 370z from a 40 roll, so..that ss/tc should have done better imo especially with the NLS, maybe he needed a driver mod lol

cobalt ss run high 13's at best stock around what 102mph? 370s low low 13's around 106-107. sorry just not much of a race. and i hope sopmeone isnt saying a cobalt ss with the GM tune is a beast..... or even an aftermarket tune alone. there still 13 second cars. its so goofy to say hey watchout for this or that. hey watchout for that h22 swap or, watch out for that cammed this.. has the standards for what a "beast" is gotten slower a gm or aftermarket tune cobalt is not a beast......... and slick. would need more than that on a supercharged balt to beat a 370z or he wasnt trying or maybe need a driver mod. because that setup isnt a low 13 car just my opinion. but anything can happen on the street. something would be wrong for me not to put car lenghts on a car that im faster than on topend and down low

just an aftermarket tune alone they have been known to hit over 300+whp/320+wtq. ya it will still do 13s but they will run with pretty quick cars from rolls.

honestly u seem to put ur car on some type of unbeatable thrown, based off numbers others have done but u havent. u cant talk about 1/4 mile times if u have never done them....

i trapped 103.5 stock and 105 GM tune.
that was with a missed NLS 1st to 2nd (droped boost)

line em up in 2nd-4th where i never miss and i promise i will sit at your door.
from a dig, i admit it be ugly. but a roll from any mph id love a shot at. there is a new red one in my subdivision. if any of you guys know him, tell him id love a friendly race.

2900lb car + 280whp is pretty damn good.
hence the reason pre 11 gt's, srt's and 350's and stock ls1's get a nice eye opener.

/this.

does the OP have a timeslip?
besides my kill posts, i have a timeslip to backup the fact that the lil sucker traps in the territory of the common trapping 370's

Nice kills but I can't help compare the Cobalt SS's to the SRT-4 neons. Some of you may say there's no comparison but for what they are they can be made fast for real cheap. Let's be serious though, would you honestly pick a Cobalt over a 370z?

well a 370z does look better and more badass then the cobalt.

But if you just want a qwk car for cheap , FWD for us new england guys and still get good gas milage why not go for the cobalt?

Ignorant guys like you give import owners a bad name, do some better research on your numbers. A turbo cobalt with a tune will put a few cars on your 370z in a roll race like the one you just did.

i would take the cobalt for the fact used u can get one for about 10k cheaper. but if money didnt matter of course i'd take the 370z even tho alot of the owners seem to be ****** that think they got the sickest cars out
