Roushcharged 07 GT vs 01 lightning @ 12 psi **VIDS**
Hey guys. A guy with a lightning wanted to see how he stacked up against my bros mustang. We figured he'd get destroyed but it was still a good time, and he was a nice guy. Only said mods were that he upped it to 12 PSI. Those things go good for a truck!
First race my brother missed 4th but it didn't matter at that point. Second race was a dig run and my brother started in 2nd gear because the 235's don't really like the almost off idle 360 lbs ft of torque! Enjoy.
Forgot to include, my brothers mods are Roush blower @ 6psi, Roush CAI, catless X-pipe with stock mufflers, and 3.73's. Pretty mild boosted set up.

Last time he dynoed he didn't have the catless X on his car and he made 404 RWHP on a dynojet. Figure 380 or so on a mustang dyno. I have to say though that taking the cats off seemed like it made a world of difference. Boosted motors love to breath, and ever since he got the supercharger on, his car always had this little hesitation when he hit 3rd hard...almost like the traction control was on. When he did the catless X, it totally went away and the car rips now.

He is very well aware that it isn't the most performance oriented supercharger for the car, but the 2 reasons he got it were..
1. It was the only one the dealer would install to keep the car under warranty
2. The stock bottom end won't hold any more than 500 whp, and thats on the high side. That said, the roush kit will have no problem making almost that with just a 10 psi pulley change. He never bought the car to go do a forged bottom end and make it crazy. Just wanted a quick street car that would hold it's own.
Plus, the Roush kit looks AWESOME in the engine bay. Almost factory. It's the cleanest kit I've ever seen on an S197 car.

Nice kills...I would love to have a Lightning
Those Roushchargers do look cool. http://www.corningford.org/images/co...SHcharger2.jpg
But whys the airbox on the opposite side of the engine bay from the throttle body There has to be a legitimate reason, but it looks kinda rediculous IMO

They are sweet trucks. Def an awesome bang for the buck if thats your style.
The reason is because thats where the factory location for the airbox is, and the kit is designed to retain a warranty on the car so they route it to attach to the factory box.

Yea I hear ya! It was priceless...after the second run form the dig, the guy in the lightning cruised up beside us and yelled out, "that thing RIPS man!" Then he looked back over his shoulder for our buddy in the 08 red GT and yelled "wheres Jeff?" hahaha. You would have had to have been there but it was funny as hell.
