CAMAROSS vs 370Z VS BMW335I vs MBE550 Hi everyone i am new to this forum and i love it lol. Best forum for sharing your racing storys and looking for cool mods.
Me and my buddies did some runs with all their cars to see who has the quickest car. i will make it short by telling u how my 2010 LS3 camaro did against the cars.
1ST run agaisnt the 370Z rolling start only, 1st gear roll, no passenger.
370Z got jumped held it their till 2nd, i start slowly passing him by time we hit 140mph i had at least 5CLS on him. 370z=KILL
2nd run agaisnt 335I bmw JB1 340hp, 2nd gear roll, no passenger.
I gain 1/2 car on him right away, then start slowly creeping on him and pass him by 2-1/2 CL by 120mph then we had to cut off due to traffic.
NEXT run probaly one of the best runs i ever had with a car besides a EVO lol.
E550 COUPE 2010 mercedes 1st gear roll, 380hp no passenger,
I pull half 1/2 right away hold it there till mabye 60mph he closed the gap and were dead even till mabye 90mph then he starts gaining and gaining hes about 3 cars ahead by time i hit 135mph then all sudden im reeling him in hard and im like yaaa im finaly beating him then i pass him by like 10 cars lol.
Then he tells me he has a limited govenor set at 137mph, and hes geting it removed next month by a ECU tune.
We all had fun but i just dont see how a car with similar weight and less power can beat me topend? my car is AUTO and i was going around the MB forums they told me a 6MT would pass a E550 coupe with its extra ponies.

Well if you are an auto then you don't have the LS3 engine in your car. It's called the L99 engine and isn't making as much power as the LS3 M6 Camaros are. This could be why he was pulling on you with less HP plus MB are known for there good gearing and trannies.

good races, but you need to learn "your" car better before you throw up your name as "LS3 POWER". It is "your" car, right? Not your dads? lol
Don't feel bad, I had to disillusion a 45+yr old guy who had just bought a L99 2010 SS and was earnestly trying to tell me it had the 505hp 427ci LS7 Corvette engine in it, but it's name had been changed to "LS3" to keep the corvette guys from complaining.

He was absolutely crushed when I told him he was wrong and didn't even have a LS3... actually, he didnt believe me until I started spouting off facts like head numbers stock flow data, cam size, gear ratio, where the different parts were manufactured, etc. etc.
Then I showed him my GTO parked next to his SS and told him in the US, the GTO was the first to the shores with "our" platform, and that the G8 was the upgraded full US spec version of "our" platform. Then came a different body dropped onto the chassis that they now dubbed 'Camaro'. To finish him of, I then explained how they all came from a collaboration between Holden in Australia and Vauxhall in Europe- both GM holdings.
I felt bad for taking that guys ice cream cone and dropping it on the ground like that, but jeez... how could you not research a car you are going to drop $40,000 on?!?! It's the internet age after all! And then arguing about it to me.

If you have a L99 then thats a big difference compared to the LS3 at the wheels. Some L99's ive seen dyno about 320rwhp stock and some LS3's ive seen dyno 350+rwhp. If you had the LS3 then for sure you wouldve given the benz a good run and might even pull slowly on it. The rest not too suprising.

Wow you guys just raked that guy over hot coals! I mean it really sucks that he thought he had a Vette engine and doesn't, let alone the fact that now everybody on tech thinks he's a moron. I'm curious as to who told him that he had an LS3, or if he just came to that conclusion himself. Oh well. Hopefully he changes his user name to L99 Power and sticks around to keep learning. Or maybe he'll go one step further and just open a completely new account under a completely different user name so nobody ever knows it was him
