Default 98 Z28 vs. 2010 GTI

Me and my buddy jeff were out crusing in my camaro and he decided to call up his cocky friend with a 2010 GTI, who talks all kind of **** and has some 600 dollar chip on his car. So, we meet up, and head to the 30 bypass. There we did a 40 roll, where i slaughtered him by about 4 or 5 by 120. We hit traffic and cruised to Paoli Pike, whre we went from a 40-50 roll with the same results. Just cruising around on highways back to some backroads, i was surprised at how when he was out in front and gunned it, i was having a hard time catching up until up over 100mph. We finally got to some good twisties with me out in front, and i hit in and he just disappeared haha. Had to wait up the road for him to catch up (gotta love these 3-point subframe connectors i just got!) He later said at a gas station that he was very surprised he couldn't keep up on the backroads, and ended up slowing down because he was choking on my exhaust haha

Cliff Notes: Met up with a chipped 2010 GTI, and killed him from 40 rolls and on the backroads. With a 170 pound passenger too.

Maybe it was the choking on my exhaust fumes that slowed him down haha. But i just put those UMI 3-Point sub-frame connectors on last week, and it was a night and day difference. Car handled 10 times difference in the corners, so sorry if i was a little overly excited about it haha

Yeah watch out for their turdos. Every GTI owner I've met thinks they have the fastest **** on the road. Thank you for putting one of them in their place.

No problem haha. I took down an earlier generation GTI a month or so back. So kid from UTI with a stage 2 turbo he said. Completely wasted him haha

american cars with a live rear axle cant handle... liar... anyways small cars like a gti handle well in quick transitions not necessarily better on long sweeping curves on back roads. f-bods handle a lot better then people give them credit for.

My car was set up with the advice of sam strano for autocrossing, and can hold its own very well against most cars, including the gti. The results from scca don't lie haha

lmao

Put good tires on a stock LS1 Fbody and watch it walk all over a equally tire'd FWD ANYTHING on a real track. Those small, low, and sporty fwd cars seem fast and awesome on the street until you try and hang with a RWD sports car on a legit twisty road. The stock tires on a Fbody suck *****! Put modern rubber on them and learn to drive it properly and you will find yourself laughing hysterically as they go into the ditch trying to keep up with you. Ask me how I know.

You speak the truth my friend. I also took a 300zx non turbo up in altoona pa, up a huge twisty hill to "the lookout." He couldn't believe he couldn't keep up haha. And i had my RA in the car with me...screaming
