Stock 5.0 wil destroy any stock GTO on a roadcourse-thats a no brainer

Absolutely. Arguing otherwise is just foolish. Only area the GTO and 5.0 can come close performance wise is in a straight line.

stock vs stock the gt should win,its atleast 6 years newer than the gto. my point is irs has a huge advantanage over a sra on a road course.you would have to be a fool to take a sra over a properly setup irs..

You can't say "an SRA" vs. "properly setup IRS." You have to give car examples. And the GT would buttfuck a GTO around a road course. Did you miss the part where I said it was .09s slower than a 414hp BMW M3 around the Streets of Willow Springs? A 1.8 mile long track, with a professional driver? Yes "IRS" is better than "SRA," but only if the car underneath it can back it up. And the GTO can't.

well you better tell the people in austraila that a gto can't run a road course,because they do race them in thier supercar series against all other makes and they do rather well..THE STOCK SHOCK AND SPRINGS SUCK *** ON A STOCK GTO!

They run Commodores in the Supercar series, not Monaros. The Commodore (Pontiac G8) runs against the Ford Falcon. There aren't "all other makes," it's two 3,600lb+ sedans duking it out. And now since it's obvious you have a very small grasp on what you're talking about, I suggest you just stop this discussion.

NO ONE said a GTO cant go on a road course, it will just do terribly if attempts to stock.

You think the cars in the super car series are ANYTHING close to stock?

ANd aa SRA has a few advantages on a road course as well, thats why teams here and in australia dont with them out on mustangs.

BTW ill take a properly setup DOHC motor over an OHV motor anyday!

An SRA can't perform as well around a road course as an IRS?
That's strange, because the last time I checked, Team Roush is only 8 points behind a BMW M3 team in Grand Am racing (and two behind an M6 team). And I believe they've placed first in a few races on the way. Even so, there are several BMW teams that place well below them. Mustangs (with SRAs) occupy the 5th, 6th, and 9th spots in the Grand Am continental tires racing series. Some other cars that compete in the mustang's class include the: Camaro, Challenger, 911, M3, M6, etc. The closest Camaro is in 12th and he has 100 less points than Roush. I guess the Camaro's IRS just isn't getting the job done for the Sunoco Camaro.

And now some eye candy to liven this crappy thread up.

That is irrelative...i dont see stock 5.0's beating stock ZO6's for example...and besides before the 5.0 came out that takes what you said back to the previous year stangs vs older LSX powered vehicles. They were "newer" as well and got beat stock for stock.

the suspension on a stock gto is outdated compared to 2011 vehicles..what make the chasis on a on a gt so much superior over a gto?
