Default EVO vs LT1 no vids

After patiently waiting 600 miles to break the new clutch, tranny and rear end. I was out cruising and was pleasantly suprised to see a white Evo pulling up along side me that had the distinct sound of blow off valve. Suprisingly I got them to roll down their window and talk. Since it was dead out we both decided to just go from a light. I spun ever so slightly but still jumped out ahead in 1st and by the top of 2nd I had put a good bus length on him. When I hit 3rd I was letting out.

We pulled over afterwards and talked briefly. The driver was pretty cool, no exscuses were made. The Evo supposedly is pushing 280 hp, no clue whether he was talking crank or what. I have no knowledge of most imports, especially an Evo or how they run so feel free to chime in. But anywho I know its kind of a puppy kicking but it was still fun considering I havent had my car for the last 4 months. I was also amazed at how much the new mods have helped out!

Good kill! Those 383 LT1's can definitely clean up. Gotta be fun as hell with the 6-speed.

Yea a heads/cam 383 LT1 would be a good run for a bone stock Evo.

A bolt-on LT1 is a more then enough to run a stock modern evo.

A H/C 383 will demolish one, even a very mild rebuild 383 like the OPs.

No hp #s or track times as of yet. I'm guessing they are nothing super impressive for a mild stroker. I'm hoping to get to the track this fall and possibly up the power level with an AI cam this winter. Only reason I went with the 503 is I already had it from my old stock shortblock that and I drive the car pretty frequently.

Yea, 503 is waaayyyy too small for a 383 but I'm sure its a fun and fairly stout daily driver .

The OP didn't say it was a close run.

Stock Evos are like 102-103 trap cars on a good night.
