So Tuesday night was the last Test n Tune at Gateway of the year, and probably for a while since it is closing due to a financial nightmare. Sean and I have been wanting to get some runs in, so we met up at the track and decided to settle it there. It was absolutely packed, probably 3x the normal turnout for TNT, so we only got 3 runs. Onto the good stuff...
MODS:
snake95: 95 Mustang Cobra, 308, AFR 165s, Trickflow stage 1 cam, ported Cobra intake, underdrive pulleys, 70mm tb, 75mm MAF, BBK longtubes, o/r X, 3.73's, tuned, through a T5.
me: longtubes, true duals, lid, ls6 intake, tuned, 3.73s and for this night only I was on drag radials.

Run #2 was a clusterfuck for both of us. No point in posting. Actually, I redlit because I was scared of the Mustang.

I guess its a tie, 1-1 since on #2 I redlit because I was letting the clutch out so far, but didn't take off until the green
. I beat him to the finish though. I think a dig on the street would be a good way to settle this some time, roll would be pointless since I trap 7 mph more.
I have to say, leaving on DRs would take a lot more getting used to. I couldn't figure it out in just 3 passes for the life of me.
Oh well, I had a blast. Snake definitely has the driver mod, he was very consistent. One more pass and he would have had his 12 second pass for sure. He was playing with shift points and what not and 1 more would have done it.

Good runs for sure. I was disappointed in my car, my cam is advanced a few degrees for more end and I think it showed, not making excuses though as I think you would have walked me on the top end regardless, I still can't figure out why my car didn't MPH worth a ****, my car just plain ran out of breath. I was experimenting with shift points, too, and on that last run it cost me my 12 slip (I think). Before people tell me to learn how to drive, I know how to drive. Oh well, it was a hell of a lot of fun! Your car definitely moves out compared to my little Rustang
It was great finally meeting Sean, real stand up guy and it was fun bullshitting with him all night.

Good runs guys! Nice to see two enthusiast getting it done on the track. Wsick should be mid, low twelves with that MPH. Snake looks like the cam is holding you back. Maybe a custom grind or something a tad more radical than a TF stage 1 in the future???

I think so, too. Too bad we couldn't get more damn runs in! It was a circus. You are right, though, because my Mickey's hooked great from a 4300 dump, I think if I raised the pressure to about 22-24 and dumped at 3500-3700 that may have helped me some...and the other thing is no matter how fast someone shifts you can always improve! No excuses from my end, your car moves. Future mods for me (when funds allow) will be a different cam and intake. The torque of my car is a lot of fun on the street but if I want to beat any bolt-on LS1's, damnit I need some top end!

Yes, I agree wholeheartedly. My lift now with 1.6s is .499/.510 and 221/225 duration. I have some 1.72s sitting around I may throw on once I have the money to upgrade springs (which will need to be done regardless if I get a cam in the future) and that will bring the lift to .536/.548, which I think will help my top end.

Your guess is as good as mine. The cam is advanced 3 degrees and on my dyno graph it runs out of breath at 5100...from 3800-4900 though my torque curve is flat at 327...my cam is killing me.

Lots of variables that need to be tested. It's a shame Gateway is closing and he won't be able to...
I gave it a proper send off at the end of the night though...

Yeah, for my 60 I could do more of a dump than the ever so slight hesitation that I do when I feel it grab, I call it a dump because most people don't know the difference. Next time I go to a track, hopefully I will get more than 3 runs, and I am going to give the launch hell.

yeah I'm positive you can improve that 60'. I am just looking at it from the utilizing what you have stand point. Obviously your car would see gains with a better cam but improving the launch is free
Any plans for a power adder snake?
