Default C6Z06 vs. Bike

Well.. going home from the doctor with my son, we see a bike pull up next to us.. It was drizzling and I didn't think anything of it, cause me and my son were having a discussion, and then we hear a high rev. I'm thinking WTF.. My son looks over and see's the guy spin tire and almost eat it next to us. I just shake my head. He just laughs.

We keep driving through fairly thick traffic due to a stall/accident... and low and behold the bike is back. We get through the traffic and it clears and the road is dry. I take the TC off and think.. I'm going to catch this ****** slipping.

Sure enough the guy pulls up to me and drops gears and guns it doing a wheelie. He gets on the other side of me and as soon as I hear him drop gears again, I down it to 2nd at 50 and catch a glimse of him looking back as I pass him. I walk away while he wheelies and laugh. Z06- 1!

He realized that I was game to play and attempts to run me again. Same thing.. Drop gear, wheelie for about 1-2 seconds and in that time I run away. He catches up but gets maybe a bike ahead.

This repeats several times till my cut off and i go home. Felt pretty good. I looked at it and I think it was a modded 600cc or a 750-800cc. I'm positive a liter bike would have destroyed me.

07 C6Z with 530rwhp and 480rwtq.
older bike less than 1000cc. Exhuast beneath seat.

Exhaust beneath seat means it was a Honda or Yamaha. If that's the case it was either a CBR 9__rr bike or an R6 or R1. With the power you're making I'd expect you to pull on a 600cc bike.

Underseat exhaust could be almost anything. Kawi used undertail exhaust systems from the factory on the 05-06 636 and the 07-08 zx6r before going to a shorty GP exhaust, and even some bikes like the early Yammy R6s could get them aftermarket(alibiet using shitty thin midpipes routed in front of the right rearset).

Bike could have been anything from a custom exhaust on a 90's 600 to a stock and poorly ridden 08 600 class bike. Even a mid 90s cbr 900rr or R1 would have eaten him alive unless he was just toying.

I'm not a bike expert,

but my buddy told me it could have been a ducati? Boxy rear.. and red. I wish I paid more attention to it.

My mods are a Street bully cam, ARH headers, KB intake, 160' tstat, and a tune.

My 01 FZ1 is a 1000 which most people run 11's on them and I have destroyed a CBR 900. From a roll a C6Z would definitely take the win, even against some more modern stuff. Now a new CBR 1000 or R1 would take your lunch money. The outcome doesn't surprise me at all, nice kill.

I have a 97 gsxr600 cammed/full bolt on. It would get walked by a new z06 from a roll, even my 380whp cobalt pulls on it

I've got an 07 CBR600RR and it will turn very low 11s at altitude (2100 ft were I am) in stock form.

Good kill either way, and like OP said, could be any bike. IMO bike vs car is a little bit silly as it is apples to oranges, but it would feel good to pull on a street bike for sure!!

You raced a 530rwhp Z, in the rain, with your son in the car? lol ...

Prob not the smartest thing you've ever done, but nice kill nonetheless.

He said the road was dry when they actually raced so I'm guessing the drizzling stopped. Also I was assuming his son was in his teens based on the conversation but I could be wrong. Either way, the road better be real dry for that thing to hook haha.

lol yeah that's what I was thinking. My bone stock Z with DR's will light up the tires at 70-80 miles on a completely dry road ... I could just imagine trying to run on an even remotely damp road would be a disaster in the making. haha.

Man some of you guys don't know much about bikes but there isn't anything wrong with that, just don't talk like you do...It could have been anything from 600-1400, nobody knows. Although I'm pretty damn sure it wasnt anything larger than a 1000. With his power level I would be more inclined to think it was a 600, a new properly ridden 600 would be a good run for you but based on your story how you said he would pop a wheelie when he raced you makes me think it was a 750 with a not so experienced rider, or he was just playing around with you.

Good kill though and I'm sure it was still fun! Just be careful with your son in the car man.

A friend of mine has a suzuki 600, and I pull pretty hard on him in my 07. Sounds right to me even if it was a 750. Tried running a 1000, and there's a huge difference, he pulled pretty hard on me, and was a great rider...anyway good race, good kill

Nice race, OP. Car vs bike is tough because they make power and accelerate so differently on top of the fact that 95% of the people who ride couldn't do a bike justice in a straight line if their life depended on it. Regardless, sounds like you gave him plenty to handle.

What year is his bike and where did you race from and to?

The road was dry. Dry enough for whatever bike that was to pull a wheelie off. When he did it in the rain, the bike stayed on the ground revved real hard and sounded like he was just doing a burn out. so I figured it was dry enough.

As for the bike's power.. I'd probably say a 750 as well. I doubt it was a 1000 cause I'm positive I'd have gotten smoked. I'm thinking he was still fairly new to the bike scene cause he kept popping up every time he'd drop gear. It didn't seem like he was playing around in the end. The wheelie's where getting shorter and shorter. Like he was actually trying. oh well. It was the first time a bike wanted to tangle.. so I was excited.

I believe it's a 07 or 08 could be a 09 though I guess. He bought it new. Raced many times, from a dig, from a 20 roll and 50 roll. Usually till around 120 or so

Could be any bike, but in all honesty even a noob on a 2000+ literbike would walk away from a 130mph car. I agree with the OP and still think it was a well ridden, most likely bolt-on 600 or 750.

The fact is that properly ridden 600s run deep into the 10s with a drop/stretch and minor bolt-ons. A badass drag racer(unlike me, who can't launch worth a damn with gearing) can do it on stock wheelbase.

From a highway roll you would have gotten him even worse though...they fall on their face at high speeds when power:weight starts to mean less then power:drag .
