Yeah, he's local to me. That motor had 600+ passes on it several years ago, and has been over 550whp for a few years now. It's never been refreshed or anything, all original 100K mile bottom end. He finally said screw it, cranked the boost to 40 psi (he thinks about 625whp) ran a bunch of 10.0-10.2 passes and finally and put it in the 9s.

I would agree. However, I could give a **** less what people drive. He defended the LT1 like is what the best motor ever. It's not. It sucks. So does the LS1. They have both been surpassed many times with technology. My point is he, and a lot of LT1 guys around here, need to chill out with how defensive they get.
Its the same with how some LS1 guys get defensive when they get beat or someone tells them "Godsend" of a motor isn't as good as it was 8 years ago.
Both our motors are outdated, now can't we all just get along?

Props for keeping a gt30 1g running! I think a major factor is for example, at 18 years old, although i had a good-ish job, I couldnt afford a damn LS1 car, not even close, and give me a loan?? They still wouldn't consider that. The only reason I have an LS car is dedication and luck. I got my talon for like a grand. it was close to stock, turbo, all wheel drive, 5 speed. That was cool as **** when I was 18. Daddy wouldn't buy me the 69 SS Chevelle, wouldn't buy me a LS1 car, and wouldn't buy me a motorcycle. Of course i never got the 69 SS, but the DSM's truly can be such fun cars. When they run, they run damn good. sideways in an awd cracked out go-kart? lets think real hard about that one...
DSM's bang for the buck and will make you a DriverSlashMechanic
I've always wanted to build a LSx turbo AWD 90-91 Talon, maybe with Silverado SS parts?

Driver/Mechanic is definitely true. My avatar sums it up, really.
At the end of the season i got some valve float and damaged the head. I should be finishing the reassembly today. She's coming along nicely.

Don't really care for the valve cover's color, but congrats on getting it back together.
I just finished a headgasket job on mine after over a year of downtime. It's at the alignment shop now, should get it back today or tomorrow.

Yeah they are. If i ever go GT40R+, im probably switching to a slushbox. Red rocket launches with a 150 shot, and then it's boost only down the track. It'll print mid 8 second slips @ 150+ as many times as they care to run it. Very consistent car, those boys know their ****.
This is red rocket taking out Jeff bush in the semi-finals at the DSM shootout.

well look its another ricer **** that thinks all street racing is done on the highway at 100+ mph. street racing is fine and i love running on the streets, but the way it should be done (as safe as possible, risking your own life not the life of theres) is on a back *** road that no one is on were u can see for miles if someone is coming.
