Just thought I'd vent, Z28 = down 1 cylinder. Strangely, I feel good that I didn't sell it yet because I'd hate for this to have happened to someone else within a month of buying it. Still sucks, hopefully have it fixed this weekend or next, depending on price.

That sucks man! On the bright side, if you still want to sell it with a bad cylinder, I'll give ya $500.

Anyways, hope she's back up and running soon.

Dude, that sucks! Almost makes me want to reconsider running that 03 GT kid with full bolt-on's and 4.10's talking smack to me before I sell it

Well if he's got traction, should be a good race.

Ha, well I'm just weighing my options now. I know some people that can help with this endeavor, since it's a little over my head. It doesn't look like parts will be much, it's just a matter of if it needs any machine work (doubtful though) since it's not spitting out bits of piston and/or ring as of yet. I'm hoping to get it back running this weekend, if my friends are free. If the price gets too big (>$700 or so), I'll be buying a junkyard motor instead.

Piston, ring set, head gasket, oil pan gasket...what else am I forgetting?

Tell me about it. If the guy would have sold his car, I would have had it gone last month.

Well that stall will definitely help him. But a 4.10-geared Mustang gets off the line pretty darn well with DRs.

From what Marc told me, based on them racing the same car, it won't be that close. 2+ car win for the boat anchor.

Like I always say... you can't always base results off previous races.

I think it's a good indicator, not saying it will be x from this race + x from that race, but I don't think the turd valve will be all that close to the boat anchor.

'03 GT is a 2V . So it's gonna be a mid-high 12s car vs. a high 12/low 13s car.

You know your Mustangs! Good for you! Turd = 2, guess you must have missed that chief.

And from what he told me, more like a low 13 second car vs mid-high 13 second car. Inside info helps.

A bolt-on/geared 2V is not a mid-high 13s car. If you can't run low 13s, you're either in high DA or you can't drive.

On my way home 15 minutes ago I pulled away from a light casually in the left lane with a Mazda 6 next to me. I needed to get into the right lane for my turn so I got a little on it to get in front of the guy, but apparently he got the wrong idea, and started pacing me. Im doing like 70 in a 50 trying to get around him, but he just sits there on my quarter like a douche bag. I brake to go turn behind him and he flys past me probably doing 90. Some peoples kids...

I feel your pain, i popped the head gasket well in the triple digits a few days ago.

I reused a set of head studs which weren't that old, and i think 30+psi stretched them and lifted the head. Pulling the head for a second time in 2K miles, awesome.

It is with an average or below average driver

Damn. Parts should be under $200 for me, labor may be zero or 120 max, so I won't be out much other than time.

And that has absolutely zero impact on what I said. A bolt-on/stalled LT1 is a mid-high 12s car (mostly high), and a bolt-on/geared 2V GT is a high 12/low 13s car.

I was basing comparisons with Sean with my uncle's C5. I beat my Uncle's C5 by 1-1/2 cars in a 0-120 run earlier this summer and my uncle's car beat this kid by 1-1/2 cars in a 0-100 run with the LS1 pulling on the top-end.

Who knows, we'll see what happens. All I know is he has been talking mad smack for the past 2 years telling me the LT1 is "GM's Mistake of a Motor" and how he will walk me but when his friends raced me in the past and he is there he would always back down and refuse.

I really think if I would have hit the track on the 200 DA weather we were having at the end of the season I would have had much better numbers than my car's old 2700-2900 DA run of 13.024@103.33 - an EWP has also been added into the mix since then so it would have been a good test of the gains of the EWP - of course, all my theories are speculation until proven otherwise - which with my car gone Friday, likely won't get to be proven at a track
