racing kill leads to issue with daughter
This may be considered taking advantage of the "challenged," but I thought it was amusing.
Two weeks ago, I had my wife, daughter and two dogs in the car, and ended up at a light next to some... thing with a big rear wing, ugly wheels, green neon tubes and a fart can. Said "thing" was in the left lane, and I was in the right. It might have been a Honda, but I honestly couldn't tell.
I needed to make a left in 400 yards.
There's a nice way to do this, and a not-so-nice way. I was on the fence about this until the other driver revved his chain saw. Of the many choices in the "not-so-nice" category, the one I usually pick with witnesses present involves goading the other guy into laying into it, and then sneaking in behind him and making my turn. This normally involves a radar detector in full alert. After, I've got the wife and an impressionable teenager in the car. One must be civil.
However, civility flew out the window when the light turned green. The little 4 banger made all the right noises (esp. if one desired a manicured lawn), and even broke the front tires loose for a second.
At that point, I realized my radar detector was silent. Option one flew out the window right after my civility.
BAM. The petal hit the floor. (whereupon, my wife called my parentage into question, and my daughter started giggling like she was nuts)
I didn't expect the race to be so one-sided. G8s aren't exactly slim, and with my passengers ("traction enhancement mods?"), it really shouldn't have been a race at all. The other car looked so tiny and sounded so angry. But, in fact, I managed to clear the intersection before he did, and pulled at least ten lengths by the time I needed to turn.
My daughter's hooked now, and she wants my T/A.
*sigh*

daughter issues
Good story! A few months ago I had a run in with a M3 with my daughter in the passenger seat. I heard laughter, screams and "Dad Dad!". Now she has her learners permit, I'm in trouble!!

Picture of Father and Daughter (watch it she's 15) she actually did help in taking the engine apart.

A quick story ... my daughter (now 22) grew up in fast cars and on fast motorcycles. Literally, the night before she was to take her driver's test, she was pulled over by the State Patrol running 75 in a 60 on her learners permit. The funny thing was, I was sitting in the seat beside her. I was hoping she was "scared straight", but to this day, she has a heavy foot. Luckily, she drives a Mini Cooper. I couldn't bear the thought of her in something with horsepower.

I observed all traffic laws. Even used my turn signal, albeit, just to rub salt in the wound.
It would be interesting to see that ricemobile again. I'd be tempted to run against him in my badass 5-cylinder Montana - capable of 9 second quarter miles (provided there is a 1/4 mile cliff nearby).

What did she do? Nothing. Nothing at all. I've never seen anyone act like nothing was happening. Most non car people laugh, scream or both.
"Seriously? No reaction?"
