Does the green attract douche bags?
Our story begins with me planning my Saturday. A friend of mine was having a graduation party at his parent's house. The house was out in the boonies so I figured it would be a good ride on the bike. I had no clue where the house was so I plugged the address into google navigation on my phone. I put my gear on (dress for the slide not the ride) and threw my bathing suit and toiletries into my Jansport as I had planned to drink a few too many. I put my phone in my jogging arm band and strapped it to my forearm so I could use the GPS since getting lost on a bike blows hard.
The ride to the house was about an hour, it was mostly backroads so it was rather enjoyable. I pulled into the driveway and there was a bunch of people outside looking over a Supra. The car belonged to another friend's older brother who I suppose decided to tag along with his brother.
I could smell the arrogance coming off of this guy. I respect a Supra as a performance vehicle, but I am not Paul Walker. I know what they are capable off and what they are not. The owner just bought the car a month ago and the previous owner put in all the wrench time. I imagine the current owner overpaid for it, but that is neither here not there. I asked him a lot of questions about it and he didn't seem to really know a lot of details about it. From what I gathered the car had a slightly build motor and a single GT35, at least that is what it said. I do not remember the specific model, I assume somewhere around a 66mm turbine.
He kept talking about how fast it was and that he had already got into a few races and destroyed everything so far. I knew it was fast but anyone unfamiliar with performance thinks something with 300 wheel horsepower is the Batmobile. I walked away to change into my bathing suit and get something to eat. I come back 10 mins later and some people are looking over my bike and I guess the topic of him racing my bike had come up. Of course he said he thought he could beat it. I didn't want to race him and knew the direction this would go if I refuted him. So I just tried to walk away but out of no where he asks me if I wanted to get a run in. I said no thanks but the host of the party pulls me aside and word for word says "Can you just embarrass him so maybe he will leave." I could not ignore the request of the host and new college grad.
I put my gear back on and pounded a bottle of water. The host told me that there was a 4 lane 3 mile straight about 3 mins away, he led us there with a small crowd. We stood around a minute a few minutes beforehand and then he started getting mouthy. He asked me "Are you ready to lose." I responded with "If you are so confident let's put some money on it." We agreed on $50 and the loser has to leave the party. We lined up and he starts doing this giant burnout (I guess he thought his 19's were going to hook). Anyways, I took a bottle of water out of one the cars and dumped it on the asphalt. I do a small burnout to clean my tire.
We both are lined up and he begins to honk. We both take off. I pull the front too much for comfort. I let off and lowered the front back down. At this point he is actually in front of me. I short shifted into 2nd and went wide open. I hit powerband strong and pull past him pretty hard. The race is over but I don't get a lot of chances to open my bike up like this so I go wide open all the way through 4th gear. I shut it down around 160. He looked like he was around 1/8 mile behind me, which I am sure is an exaggeration but I didn't exactly have a range finder on me, rest assured it was a lot. We meet back at the beginning and he is pretty quiet now. The host hands me my winnings and we go back to the house. I don't know if he just needed a reality check or what, but he was pretty cool now. He even came up and shook my hand. However he still left, which I think most were happy about.
This is my bike.

Surprised you found a dyno that would read so high: they're stingy as hell up in my neck of the woods. but you know I also claim the highest reading I got out of the dozen+ I've been on.

Ahh, what I assumed when you mentioned 160mph. Of course, most 600 guys *claim* there 600's can go 160mph. I'm sure you've ran into those posers.
