random videos like this are why ignorant people keep arguing like a bunch of morons. The new 5.0 is faster then ANY new camaro, period. Time for GM to step it up a notch and unleash there engineering team on the problem.

Ok, no one argued that. I posted because it is a cool race between a 5.0 and an SS. We know the 5.0 should have either ran faster or it was a really high d/a and camaro is modded a good bit. I agree GM needs to step it up if they want to compete. I vote for about 250lbs weight reduction and few more hp. That should not be way to hard to pull off. The motors are making close hp. GM needs to take the car on a diet and give it about 20 more hp and they should be good

Ive seen ALOT of new 5.0's running low 13's stock. 3.73 option Manual cars and the Autos. Not everyone is going to run a 12.4@114. The 10'ss is more of a race for the 5.0 then some of you seem to think especially on the street.

I do agree, ive driven both and if were comparing manual to manual transmissions the camaro is right there with the 5.0. The thing is alot of camaro's that i sell are auto's and thats just the way it is. If i were to compare the auto tranny against each other the 5.0 wins hands down. The tune and shifting on the camaro tranny is to say the least terrible and driving it as many times as i have thats the first thing i recommend to people when they ask whats the best mod for the car if there not looking to go extreme with the mods. After racing one and driving them i do have alot of respect for the new 5.0's.

True. I have only driven one 2010 SS and it felt slow as **** to me, but it was auto. I also took $150 from a cocky guy at my college with a black 2010 6-speed SS with intake and exhaust at the begining of the year. I put about 3 cars on it by 110 and it was before the stall. The guy wouldn't pay up at first because he claimed I had a cam in my car and ****. I started my car about 10 times to show him it had a stock cam in it lol. Finally after a **** ton of people showed up and started talking **** on him for not paying did he finally pay. This is why I never race someone for more than $100 unless someone is holding the money. Funny thing is he is the one who wouldn't race me unless I went for money and kept trying to get me to back out.

That ss sounded like it had a cam in it not stock for sure. But with a real driver in both cars there s no contest 5.0 has a good edge like it or not. Either way a win is a win good kill and you def out drove the other guy.

The SS sounded mean for sure. Both cars needed a driver mod though like previously said. Not everyone drives the cars to their potentials. I've seen people running 14's in the new 5.0 lol! Obviously spinning down the track but I just thought it was funny. Can't wait for GM to step it up and make a better match for the 5.0...

With equal drivers manual vs manual it isn't as close ad you think. Compar both best for each car and it is .3. That is a lot in drag racing. It is all because the mustang is in some case 400lbs lighter and a min. of 250.

Exactly. It was pretty funny cuz he was a cocky ****** and thought I was just giving away money. Right after we raced I stopped at a stopsign waiting for him to give the money and he just flew by and turned left and tried to leave lol. Than I called him up and had him meat me. His friend even did the arm drop and I think they set it up and he jumped early and I still put 3 cars on him.
