in that kind of "racing", it takes dedication and time, and piles of weight reduction. IMO working within a set of rules brings the best out of car builders instead of continually just throwing more power at a car.

I see your point but its really all about the set up IMO that is. I mean i believe the top fuel dragsters can only use a 500ci block, yea they make gobs of power but they could be going faster with a 572, or a 632

$4000.00 for a cam install? I've done cams on a 2V, the 4V isn't much different...

I did cams on my 2V for free . I know how the 4V and 2V differ under the valve/time cover, it's not THAT bad. Now I didn't degree them or anything, but still...

I think the degreeing thing matters a bit.

Depends on what cams you're swapping in. The only cams I'd be likely to swap on a 4V would be Cobra intake cams, which shouldn't require degreeing (from what I've heard). The 2V cams I swapped were PI intake/exhaust cams in my '98 GT.

I havnt even taken it down the 1/4 yet Before I had 2.73s and didnt even bother, now that ive fixed some things I havnt had time to make it to the track. Work and kids hampers plans at times.

I know that, I'm just saying the normal bolt on ls1 is not a 10 second car If i can get to the race weight of ~3000lbs I want and ~400whp it shouldnt suck to bad. I know ls1 are better, but I have an lt1 so thats what I'ma build. No reason I can't make it quick, right?

~edit~ For the record I have tune, LTs, ory, ls1lid, 342s and !weight. still on stock stamped rockers

the way it sits it "should" put down 900+ is what the shop is telling me. if it does i will be pulleying down as 900+ is useless on the street, i wouldn't get a single race out here... plus i want the motor to last, i don't want to be rebuilding it every few months.

I am going for the record for "Fastest 2012 Black GT500 without NAV, and with a BUrger King bag on my passenger seat"

I think I can get it.

It's funny seeing all these "records" out there.. Fastest stick on slicks, fastest stick without front bumper on drag radials etc etc etc..

$2000 for the JDM super stock cam pkg just parts... about $2000 for labor.. from what I understand, there is quite a bit of labor involved. Someone had mentioned you have to drop the motor to do it.. but I'm not sure exactly.

Come down to Texas. You'll get some runs.

Post up the dyno when you get it! GL!
