I know that, I'm just saying the normal bolt on ls1 is not a 10 second car If i can get to the race weight of ~3000lbs I want and ~400whp it shouldnt suck to bad. I know ls1 are better, but I have an lt1 so thats what I'ma build. No reason I can't make it quick, right?

~edit~ For the record I have tune, LTs, ory, ls1lid, 342s and !weight. still on stock stamped rockers
I hear you there... When I do manage to get time to go **** breaks on me just before and I can't run. The weight helps a ton... Sounds like you should be able to swing 12s no problem. Good luck.

True statement. Also, need a milkshake in the cup holder. Any other way, and the record won't count.

Milkshake won't be a problem. Won't spill at all considering I can't launch hard at all on these tires.

Thanks man, honestly even a 13 flat would be ok by me, its old and tired, I know it SHOULD go faster but in the real world **** dosnt always go as planned.

I could go run it and click off a 12.5 but I'm not gonna hold my breath till I have a time slip

Still the fastest, cheapest, and most reliable car I've owned. 5k total investment including the car so w/e, haters can hate, Best money i've ever spend on something.

I pulled the engine/tranny out of my '98 when I did the swap. The swap took ~12-15 hours over the course of a week with me and a couple buddies from dfwstangs doing the work.

Not bad... I picked this thing up for 13k with 43k on it. Did nothing but maintenance for 150K... Including a cam swap, clutch and fresh shortblock last year I have 17k in the thing and 175k on it. Hard to complain at all with 5K on your end.

Now factor in how much a shop will charge to do that plus degreeing... These cars are not cheap to break into the motor on.

Hell, a decent bottom end build will run me approx $10k. Already have good forged internals, so have to go with top of the line stuff to improve on it(Oliver, Diamond, Manley, etc etc etc). I am considering going with a Ford Racing built Iron shorblock for $4k.. but not sure I want the extra 100lbs up front and give up the aluminum motor.

How close to max blower RPM are you?
You could also use a wastegate instead of the bypass valve and hook it up to an electronic boost controller. Then you could change the boost on the fly.

since the novi 2200 is basically a ysi internally going off vortech's impeller speed calculator it will be spun to a little over 65k rpm spinning the motor to 7k. i want to spin the motor more then that so its going to be some trial and error i think until we find the right setup.
the MAX impeller speed the "ysi" is rated for is 65k so its going to be up there lol...
Ive thought about the wastegate setup but it just puts more stress on the blower then is necessary.
the shop is going to put the car on the dyno and see what it does, he is thinking 20+psi which is not what i want. it will be cool but im looking for the motor to last, not need a rebuild twice a year. the motor has all arp hardware and ls9 gaskets so it "should" hold just fine but im not looking to set any records.

Na not at all, paid 2400 for it like 3 year ago, and ive rebuilt the whole front suspension, and re done all brake lines, but only cause I wanted to, didnt overly need it but I was there so I figured I might as well.

Sure its needed some tlc but the price reflected that, its been a fun project/DD car and I've learned alot, thats why I'm excited to go the next step and tear into the engine.

Makes me smile when I drive it so it could run 14s and I wouldnt care

It's H/C, but doesn't really count cuz it skipped the boltons LOL. Fail.

Bolton LS C5 list is surprisingly slow. Guess not many people race them - the bolton LT1 list is quicker and they weigh more with less power.
