Broke a record last night with the snow, earliest that it has been recorded to ever have snowed here (doesn't snow here often).
Supposed to be in the 70's this weekend

If the weather holds this year I'm going. I run all seasons so with the prep they have I should be able to get about what I normally get (2.0-2.1 60fts)... as long as the rest of the track is good I should get a few good runs in at least until May when they open up again.
I went with my old blue LT1 car but the RSAs would not hook for **** and I had some pretty bad 60fts but fantastic MPH (for an LT1, went from 97mph in the summer to 103mph) *was also stock vs some bolt ons

That snake is cold!!! Put a blanket on her or a space heater to keep her warm!
I bet you'll be able to go racing

I haven't been to the track since I did LTs, tune, TMS short block, ls7 clutch, etc I'm hoping for a 13 flat. LOL

It snows in Alachua once every 20 years or so, but it's already been a record cold winter this year. I'm betting we get flurries this year the way wifey told me it's been. They still close the track where I live from nov-jan I dunno why, no point.

You need to probably up the rev limiter a little bit, I had mine set at 6500 with the LS6 cam in there on my old Trans Am

I wish I could get a great time with my 20" Nittos.. but its fairly difficult with the tabletop tq curve that the TVS has. I have debated trying to run at Dragging Rights for testing purposes since it would be my first trip to a 1/4 mile.. but honestly, it would end up being more of a how good mph I can trap vs et.. because 1.9-2.0 60's just wont cut a good et imo.

It's at 6800 now... I had the original stock tune in it when I first did the cam swap so I just had to make due with what I had. I now own HPTuners so that's been taken care of.

It was a 98 LS1 so i was scared of the shitty *** rod bolts, also for what ever reason the trans would lock in gear if I tried to turn it any higher (auto car)

I was going to get a nice clutch setup...then my T56 rebuild cost ballooned and I said **** it and picked up an LS7 clutch kit complete for 310 shipped. It was a matter of nothing at all and keeping the 90K LS6 clutch in it or replacing it while everything was apart with what I had left in my budget. Eventually this thing won't be my daily driver anymore and I'll get a race car clutch.
Yeah having kids I have to pick my battles when I spend money. LOL I did my entire cam swap for 200.00... should have planned it out further and bought HPTuners before I even started but it ran pretty well on stock tune (23-24mpg averages) and I don't race all that often anyways.
Can't blame you with the rod bolts.... this TMS block makes me feel a lot better about the higher RPM than the stock block did.

i had my tuner friend up my dad's 05 cts-v limiter to 7200. he's shifting the hell outta it at 7k daily. and it has about 280,000 miles on the damn thing. those ls6s really are amazing little engines
Are they going to prep the track well? VHT etc?
Well the 18's I'm sure work alot better than the 20's. I have almost zero sidewall.. no flex. If I am going to run it Saturday, I will have to leave easy as hell and try to make it up after the 60ft.

nt05r in a 20"
edit: i found a 315/35/20 nt05r!!! should be perfect for our TSWs in the rear

Doesn't a stock headed LS6 cam peak at like 6k? I would think a 6400-6500 shift point would be just about right for 1/4 mile times with the cam. 6800 seems like it would slow you down, but I guess if its not falling off then it could pick up ET by not dropping so low on shifts...
