I'd love the warm weather and car scenes! I've told the girl, since I have some family with connections in Oklahoma who have recently been handing my resume around, I'd want to go South if a career opportunity presented itself.
I'd miss the family, as I have a pretty big one, but I'm literally in a worse mood for 4-5 months a year because of the damn cold. It's hard to explain. From the first step out my front door, feeling that 20 degree weather and 12 degree windchill slap me in the face just kills me.

Boy that statement is no lie. Cali weather is by far the best in continental 48. Hawaii has the best weather ever. Period. Phoneix was nice 2 weeks ago when I was there, but then again, that wasn't summer. I always think BS when someone tells me "but it's a dry heat so it does to feel as hot". Ridiculous. Same thing goes for a "dry cold" BS.

Then get hell outta there! I'm not sure what you do, but there is PLENTY of work in Texas and Oklahoma. Oil work is tough, but pays REAL well.
Hammer, since you have zero choice to leave being a farmer, you have a great attitude toward the weather. You have to love it, being that there's no choice to move.

you want to feel the difference between a wet heat and a dry heat... it is so humid here in summer that you sweat your ***** off at 70 degrees. at 95-100, your windshield can start fogging up from the condensation on the windows from the AC.

I have my BA In Marketing with a minor in sociology, emphasis in communications. Right now I'm finishing my MBA after 2 more classes. I work for a communications company now but once I finish my MBA, I'm going to pursue jobs that pay a little more. The opportunity for advancement at this job is bleak, and that bugs me.

I love Chicago. If it didn't get cold I would live there. Like Texas too. Most people there are friendly. Didn't really like Houston too much. If you are single and need a good job the gas industry is where you can go there...

. Went and drove an Si sedan after work today, and everything just felt so familiar. Car has plenty of lowend to lug around traffic in 2nd gear, but is also quick to pull up to redline. And dat shifter. Damn it I'm terrible at stuff like this... Last edited by Irunelevens; 11-26-2013 at 05:47 PM.
