Pay some money on a good garage heater and be done with it.

I don't play video games, so my answer would be to buy both.

Yes, I realize that doesn't help you in the slightest bit, but I tried.

What he said is true. There are LS-based motors that can make similar power if you piece them together correctly with an iron (most likely aftermarket) block. But what he is saying is that with a DOHC 4.6 you can do it with the factory block/crank/cams/heads. Just requires a little positive boost pressure.

So the 96 4.6L motor can make more power then the LS1?

Which one started, the 5.Br0 or the Ecoturd?
Here's the answer ...

We're talking big-money builds here, not intake/exhaust. The LS1 block isn't strong enough, which is why people go with an iron block of some kind when they want to make REALLY big power.

so then the 4.6L your talking about is the famous modular motor and I completely agree with using an iron block for the LS side of things. Id hate to spend tons and tons of money just for my Aluminum motor to get destroyed

This is another topic that you don't need to really engage in unless it is to learn. When people say that, they are talking about the SOHC 4.6 in the GT. Not the DOHC motor in the Cobra. Which is what It'llrun was referring to.

I don't think my editing was clever at all, at least I didn't intend it to be, and the point was to follow the quote back.

Why would you cut it off in the middle of his sentence if it wasn't supposed to be "Clever" and didn't finish what he actually said.....

hmm I guess he should of specified that considering you and snake95 made a big stink about when I made a google search on the challenger you see it goes both ways and it since it has been cleared up now how can one compare a modular motor to a non modular motor thats apples to oranges lets compare the modular 4.6L to the boost happy GM motor and see who wins.
