I've seen countless fox bodies and whatnot with sbc and ls motors though.

But who knows... this is more than likely because I stay in the GM world. Maybe the Ford world is the same way for their own history (I say maybe, but I'm sure this is true... I'm just not sure if our world crosses over into theirs as much as it seems from our side of the fence)
I see your point but you gotta remember the GT40 got band from the Le Mans back in the day it was far superior than the other cars yea other things like suspension driver, tires, aerodynamic played their part and helped the car but no matter what the car was FASTER than the other cars bc of the engine

Sure... but was there any significant changes throughout the rest of the engine building world (Edit: engine MANUFACTURING world) between the top 3 as a result? There isn't any that I'VE ever heard any reference to. It seems to me that all ford did was build the available motor better than the other guys. But the overall design of the engine was still similar to factory ford motors and therefore didn't revolutionize anything other than aftermarket engine building itself, not engine R&D at the factory level...

I know enough about ford to know that if you want to build a fast ford 90% of the "ford" **** needs to be replaced. If we're talking pushrod ford ****.
You don't think that SBCs are the same way?

Maybe it's because I've been drinking 151... but I THINK you said that a sbc blows up at 400 usually... but I'm honestly not sure where this conversation has gone at this point... clarify better for the inebriated please? lol

The 302W is not the only SBF. The 351W blocks from the 60s/70s have powered TONS of cars into the 8s and 9s.

So are you just comparing 302's to 350's or does the 351 "snap" at 400 too?

I don't deny this. However, my point on the matter is that GM motors do it for far less expense, AND are behind the power curve. But I am beyond hammered and typing on 8 screens right now hahahahaha

Max effort anything won't have any Ford or Chevy anything in them

Boils down to which design is better.... And well look at an LS and look at a Weesor, then let the butt hurt begin

Lmao you can almost double that buddy. Even sticking with 23* heads you're talking 900+ hp NA from an SBC.

My lowly street LT1 will make 650.
