Yep, I slightly tore my meniscus, too. I was a rare case, though, in that I had virtually no swelling, which enabled me to be operated as soon as I wanted. Usually people have a bunch of swelling and have to do therapy and ice before surgery, too.
Middle of my freshman year of college, I severely sprained my right ankle. I still brace it to this day. It's permanently bigger around than my left ankle and somewhat weaker. The ankle sprain was 10x more painful than my ACL pain. My ankle was a continuous throb that was mind-numbing. The ACL tear was 30 seconds of horrible pain and then it didn't really hurt.

It's pretty fun. Less stress of breaking stuff, and the opportunity to go faster than in a quarter.
Oh, and for you Cobro Shelby guys, a 730 wheel Shelby won the "B class" (aka the slow class) trapping 138. A Vette won the "A class" trapping 163! Stock bottom LS3, stock heads, F1 blower pushing 900 wheel.

Depending on your access to heat, there's a couple other things you can do, too.

The same thing that happens to any thing he ever posts. They must have a weird car scene up there because it seems like a lot of guys on here from around that area get butthurt easily.
