I wonder how much the machine shop is going to hate me when I ask them to build my motor. Considering how **** I am and how specific I am going to want the clearances, I'm not sure if they are going to want to deal with me lol. That's if I build this motor and don't swap something else in there..

Saw your options on FB. What are the limitations of staying with the one you got in there? Don't know much about GNs

I don't know i think id rather just build something light from the get go, that can fit a monster single plane intake or just buy a vette. I bought a 2010 titan to daily and then sell. I miss having a fun car to drive already and its only been like two weeks since i sold the fireturd. :/

I think 700whp is the absolute most these cars will take. They have been mid 9's at somthing like 138-140MPH.. I want to have my cake and eat it too, so I want a street-able 9 second Buick lol.. If I can do it, Ill be happy as hell. I'm going to start building the motor now so I have it when the one in the car blows, whenever that will be.

Currently looking at a 99 TA with 107k for $5,500, a 99 WS6 with 104k with tasteful mods for $8500 (haven't negotiated price yet), and a 98 WS6 with 140k miles for $5,500.

Still on the lookout for rollers as I made a deal on an engine and turbo.

C5 or C6? I would truly nut hug you if you bought a Vette.

What motor? With a turbo setup id just do a junkyard setup or a 5.3 forged its all it takes to trap like 140+


Either or. I like em both, but if its a C5 itll be a Z nothing less.

402 and an 88mm

C5Z would be ****. The market for them has been crazy though since it is starting to get warmer outside.

February I found 6 2010+ 3LT CGM Grand Sports for $36-$40k - I currently cannot find a single 3LT GS exactly how I want under $45k.

Sounds like a fun car to me also! But the thing with these motors, when they are pushed to the edge, you never know when or if it's going to go.. That's my real worry here.. Reliability at that power level.

Congrats mang! Just set goals and have a plan to achieve it. Be sure to work your Lats, tris, and rear delts too, as they will help increase your bench. (Of course work everything else, but I have an "assistance day" that I do only close grip benches, floor presses, lockouts etc to strengthen bench) I have been doing 5 sets of 6 routine here lately, when I can go if not working overtime. Start at a weight that you can get 5 sets of 6 reps with. Pick something that you will have to work on the last set. Then if you complete all 30 reps, you can move up 5lbs the following weeks, and do 5 sets of 6 with that. If you don't get your sets, then you have to do the weight again the next week. A good routine to get to your goals faster. before you know it, you will be doing 25+ more pounds for 30 reps when you couldn't think of doing it before.

Speaking of bench press, my younger brother bet me that I couldn't do 5 reps with his AMC 401 block.. Did it pretty easily. Anyone know how much they weigh? I made 20 bucks off the deal lol.

Deads and squats were my favorite, and strongest exercises. Loved doing them... then had a motocycle wreck in 09', and was out of work for a year, 4 surgeries on my ankle, etc.. range of motion is limited in my left ankle now, and I can't go parallel when I try to squat... my heel wants to lift up. I have tried a plywood board to put my heels on to raise them a little, but it didnt work great... so I am limited to box, or bench squats, and have to sit down, then stand back up.

Deads went south after back problems started. That was my favorite day at the gym.

Lol, yeah it was a '13 (True Shelby) and the guy just had the bottom end finished a couple weeks ago. He was pissed, b/c before building it, he had 740 w/ the stock blower, and after, he has 730. He drove it well though! Regardless, now it's built for a mammoth or big whipple. We know him here as Mr. Venom

It's not a true 1/2 at all. It's 1500 feet, roll up to 60 and go to whatever. Total length is a 1/2 mile. Deal is in this event, 1k wheel traps roughly 160.
