Hey Snake, good that nothing major happened to you. Sorry about the car though. You just got done with it and this happened. I know you must feel like crap right now.
Keep your head up though. There are better days ahead.

Thanks, Dennis. Honestly not sure how I didn't break something. Gary, yeah I feel very shitty, but there's no rewind button to hit so I'm just trying to have the mindset that there's no use letting it drag me down because I can't undo it.

I knew I forgot to mention - my buddy was in the car with me, he got ejected right before the car stopped moving (not early on in the crash) and was about 10 feet from the car after it stopped. He's got a fractured vertebrae so he's gotta take it easy for a while, but no serious injuries. He's actually fractured his vertebrae before, he doesn't need surgery - just pain meds until it heads properly. He CLAIMS he had his seat belt on but I am almost positive it wasn't. HE was my number one concern when the car stopped. I'd hate myself forever if he was seriously injured or killed. When the car stopped moving I screamed his name as loud as I could and he responded, said he was fine then tried to sit up and said his back hurt. Told him not to move and wait for paramedics.

Glad you are still here with us brother. That wreck looks nasty. Another car can be built...

I say a Buick turbo v6

Thanks ZNix. I will definitely think twice next time I pass someone, will never pass with a guardrail in sight again, because I think if there wasn't one last night, I would have just coasted to a stop in the grass. Oh well, no sense in going through "what ifs".

Turbo Buick! Actually I know of zero in my county so it would definitely stand out. Not sure if I'm willing to go to the TRUE dark side, though

Sometimes. Buy back on my 2000 SS was $800. I was hit by a Semi Truck and went through his insurance. I had a 1999 SS hit by a drunk driver while parked and they just gave me the car..

On a side note, that burgundy/redish ZR1 with the 16 year old driver 1320 video posted awhile ago turned up in a salvage yard in Cali..

Damn glad you are ok man... That looks nasty! I know all about how quick little mistakes can bite you... I've been lucky more than a couple of times including getting completely sideways next to a combine on the highway with the nose pointed under the ******* thing while going for a pass. Really makes you revisit your decision making abilities.

I mean it's essentially scrap metal in their eyes, so if I can get it back for a decent price, I will.

Anyone have experience here?

They will determine the salvage value of the vehicle, and deduct that from whatever they were going to pay you for the car. I did this with my motorcycle that I was able to fix.

Going back into my savings account. C6, coming next summer. If by some miracle I get paid significantly more than I think I will when I move into the office here in the next few months then I'll get a c7z. But I'm not holding my breath.

Thanks hammer. I'm more at peace with it today than yesterday. I would like to get another coupe with a blown motor, etc. that someone doesn't want to repair and let go for cheap. This way all wiring is in place and all I have to do is swap my block in, but while its out I may give it some good parts instead of the restrictive intake and old 165s I have on it now, bigger exhaust...do it right and still have good drive-ability.

Hookers and blow is tied for second.

Sonic Orange Slobra would be the ****...just bought a house, though, so trying to be just a tad conservative with my dollar bills. I know I NEED a toy, though, of some sort. Bro just got that 94 351 Cobra, dad has his catfish, and here I am launching my car off a guardrail like I'm playing GTA.
