Over the winter once it's too cold and roads are too salty to drive it...
Thanks guys. Stock tires are horrid!!!! ZNix - LOL'd at 5.0 comment! It was an 87-93 GT.
My last race (15.14 @ 92) was vs a 99-04 GT. I got him out of the hole, expected him to come past me on the big end but it was just too little too late.
It was funny having to use my tach as a pulse for my car at all times. In the staging lanes, couldn't hear my car running, racing 9 second race cars, couldn't hear it running. It's retarded quiet.

Thanks, Jay! The reason I like foxes so much is because they are a blank canvas, so much **** you CAN do to it if you want, cosmetically as well. It will get a healthy heads/intake package over the winter.
Thanks, Mac. Yep, I'm very pleased with it. It will be more powerful than the last one because it will have new heads, intake (already purchased), and exhaust that let it breathe like it should. I'll be using the throttle body and MAF from my last car, as well as driveshaft, 94/5 fuel rails, roller rockers, mini-starter, and the new 4.10s I still have sitting in the box. I'm converting it to electric fan, and using the 3G alternator from way back when I had my 95 Cobra. Busy winter ahead!, but since I have a garage now, I can tear into it. Last winter was a clusterphuck because if I wanted to wrench (not in the 0 degree weather), I had to use my dad's garage, and I felt guilty because then he can't tinker with his ****.
I'm still getting used to having a hatchback...always had coupes in the past.

You'll like the hatch if you use it as a actual street car. You'll be surprised at hom much stuff you can put back there if you don't try to close the hatch.
LoL, when I was a teenager, I put a dissasembled water bed in the back of mine, to get it home.

Don't get me started! I was about to bolt on my Mickey ET Streets, just had to borrow my dad's impact, so I go over there to pick it up, right? Wrong. He's dicking with the well in the front yard and needs a hand, when it was all said and done, the 30 mins I allotted for the tire change went to helping change the pressure switch and putting the heavy as hell cement cap on the well. It was almost 6 by the time I left there, and track opens at 6. End rant, but yes. I was pissed when I ran a 15.1 at 92 because I know that's a MF'in 14 with even a 2.1 60 foot...

Lol damn Sean my car might weigh what your race weight is then. Sounds like you honestly have a good car. Hard to find them that old congrats. Well best of luck building it. Im sure it'll do 11s once finished man

I've already moved stuff and been like "Yeah, no way that was fitting in my coupe's trunk" because the coupe's trunk is borderline worthless altogether. So tiny.
The goal is 11s...no effs given about trap, I just want to run an 11 in a 302 that's street driven with P/S, A/C, heat, and a good sound system. This car is a fully optioned GT that will stay full interior, that means power locks, power windows, A/C, etc. It's not nearly as light as my coupe was which was a bare bones LX coupe with power NOTHING and NO A/C from the factory. 86 GT = 3108lbs stock, plus me @ 240, minus weight that aluminum heads, driveshaft, removed dogbone, and removed smog will drop. No inspection in my county so smog is useless.
Is it stock? or "cam only" as of now?

I've decided I'm pulling the motor for 2 reasons, 1) I'm already going to have to jack the motor up and disconnect most things to get longtube headers on, and 2) I don't want to be jacking around busting knuckles, spilling fluid, dropping wrenches/bolts, normal wear/tear of modding on the car's nice paint job around the engine bay. I'm gonna put it on a stand and have every bolt easily accessible!
That's good, Hammer! I didn't catch the exact specs of the 'bird you're picking up besides 87. What engine/tranny/trim level?
