The srt4 is probably his best bet if he doesn't care about traction from a stop. If he wants decent et and plans on doing just basic bolt ons I'd go with a wrx. They have been known to have weak transmissions although it seems like bolt ons and a tune are not pushing them to that point.

Not that it really matters. BUT you would be surprised if you rode in the Civic. It handles pretty good (would probaby lose that to the beamer) and the ride quality is AMAZING! (would not lose to that)

I don't mind the brand new ones. I've had a ride in a few. I've just always seen Hondas as the cheap, reliable DD that gets good gas mileage. That being said, I wouldn't want to spend $20k on a car that has always had that designation to me

Hey man, that has always been my mindset.
Need a truck to tow the other toys, will eventually pick up a toy car when I graduate (can't wait, hate accounting classes), and if I wanted a reliable, fuel efficient DD, as a few acquaintances have in the past, you pick up a cheaper Honda.
