You'll be fine. I turned my old 406 6800 with the stock short rods in a full size k5 blazer 4x4.

All Ford v GM bullshit aside, has anyone shipped anything with Greyhound? If so, hows the rates and hows it work exactly? Go to the bus station and say 'here, take this with you asshat'. I doubt thats how it goes down.

trying to get a replacement hood to me... but haven't really dealt with greyhound for shipping before.

He sold them to a gent new, then in 1995 put $1,800 worth of porting and machine work into them. He then asked me if I wanted to sell them, I said not currently and he said he wants first dibs if I ever do!!!

Here are as many specs as I could catch, he was rambling them off so fast I couldn't catch them all.

AFR 220 eliminator heads
46* valve seats
Milled .105 to 64cc chambers
2.080 intake and 1.600 valves
Roller springs with 220# seat
Extensive, extensive port work - he said some things in there he has never used again, and that's why he wants them. He said he had to go to the "old" book whatever yhat means. He also pretty much made me promise not to do ANY machine work to them.

Pics up in a bit
He is a true master of the craft, just like Craig from GTP - spends crazy hours on a set of heads and doesn't want anyone else touching his work .

If they are from 95 though, they are NON eliminators, just like mine. Not a bad thing, they are just not as good out of the box. Here are mine for comparison - same heads, same attention to detail. Mine were PolyDyn coated in the runners and chambers afterwards, so they look a bit different. They only have dyno time on them from the last owner since they were on a track only race car.

I don't think his is running. I'm not sure how many years it has been down but it is definitely a sick build indeed. I'm glad to see his setup whenever it gets finished. Mad respect for a guy still wrenching on the ole boat anchor and making it turn respectable times/numbers

I shipped a hood with them from TX to FL. Was way way cheaper then usp/fed ex. Cost me 70 compared to 150-200. Took hood to them at station and they deliver to the house/business.

The motor is sitting on a stand in my porch, just needs a couple things like computer and fuel system. Going to run the 24x system and a 411 LS PCM to ditch the opti and get over the 7200rpm limit on LT1s ancient computer. I stopped working on it for about a year and a half while I played with motorcycles. Sold my last bike and got a new one that I'm not doing much to, so got the itch again so started getting the last few things before I break it in on an engine dyno then throw it in the car.

It's a toy for me so its not anything I'm rushing on, and when you get into the real aggressive builds like this its crazy expensive no matter what platform you are on...I like the underdog status and lack of info about LT1s, helps me make $$$ on TNT days since most guys don't think twice about running an all motor LT1. In reality, its just a cube limited SBC that can run higher compression so if you know what you're doing you can get them deceivingly quick.

Seriously....why are GTR owners so gay? Ive had three of them back out of racing me. They all have the same story.

Stock 10 GTR: "I dont street race, but if you were ever next to me and decided to punch it, i would chase you down and show you my rear license plate . Im confident my car would beat yours pretty bad, is your car stock?"

Me: "No it has bolt ons and race wheels, made 446whp uncorrected, and weighs 3200lbs"

Stock 10 GTR: "Well ill put the same amount of money into my car and run you for $2k!"

Me: "Never mind. Ill find a more humble GTR owner to run. Besides Im really looking to run an 11-13 since they make more power and would prob hang a bit better with me "

Stock 10 GTR: ".................."

***** getting annoying. When could honda owners afford GTRs? Such ricer mentalities.

I got the pleasure of being around some fast lt1 cars (I think Chris Sikoras was the fastest)... Once the heads are ported or changed the lt1 is a solid motor IMHO.

Thanks Ohio.
They deliver to the house? I was under the impression you had to pick up at station.

Going racing in a little bit, the track opens at 6. It's cold as all **** outside so hopefully the DA is decent. I want mid 11's. Still haven't heard from my friend who is supposed to loan me tires so it may not happen tonight.

you have to be careful with hoods some will fit the size constraints and some don't. Ive heard of people wrapping them really good and with all the padding it was to big to ship....

read this page: Size: Packages will be accepted for transportation, provided the dimensions of the package are within 30 inches X 47 inches X 82 inches.
