It depends on who's pumps you are using. Mine seem to last just fine. Remember wiring changes are required for the larger pumps. I do have a special filter I provide to eliminate the filter problem.

LMAO! The fact that you would even compare the 50's & 60's to the era in which I came up in where we had over 2500 murders in Los Angeles County in a single year; over 750 murders in the summer of 1992 alone, and over 100,000 gang members in the city of Los Angeles is comical, to say the least. I remember when it was so bad we had to sleep on the floor next to the bed, opposite side of the window because the rival gangs were shooting up and down the street every night for a week. Or the period where the Mexicans from across Central were choosing random targets in my neighborhood because of a recent drug deal gone bad with an area Blood gang. An 11 year old girl was killed as result of that. Crenshaw High didn't get rough until the gang epidemic took off in the early 80's. Hyde Park was actually a very nice area back then, that's why the gangs today dubbed that area the "Rich Rollin'" neighborhood. Majority of the violence back in the 1960's was east of the 110 Freeway, or in the eastside of South Los Angeles, Watts district, Willowbrook (G.W. Carver Park) and the Westside of Compton, CA which is where I was raised.

On a brighter note, life is much better in the suburbs of Sacramento.

I turned the Internet off one time. Little green men in gray suits came to my house and punched me in the dick.... if only I had listened to the purple elephants.

Careful man. You might be **** on for even saying that.

Interesting to hear some stories from others growing up. Suburbs of Des Moines were quite uneventful. Even to this day, all cops in Clive really have to do is bust drunk drivers and high school parties.

Speaking of which, I remember some police abusing their powers during a high school party I threw my senior year

Yeah; envious, I am not Growing up around my area was the typical small town, come home from playing with your buds when the street lights came on, can drink from a garden hose, mostly white kinda area. I'd always be watching my back if gunshots were my background noise!
