So... went out to race tonight.

I was in raptor chasing... They wanted to race down dangerous no light road to interior..

Anyway, bolt on 2013 GT500 vs 2 bolt on c6z06s. c6z06 were winning by fender to a car.

1 z06 trans blew up on way back. After we got that car on the tow truck had it dropped at shop the other z06 trans blew 30ft from his house.

GG z06 trans?

Bolt-ons get old quick, 11's are slow, and 5.0's run 9's stock.

Problem with doing more with less (max effort stock motor car) is at the end of the day, you will still lose most races against all out builds (even if they are half *** builds). You have to do your best to stick to the plan. But at the end of the day, you have to do what makes you happy... not what makes the other enthusiasts happy.

lol. doing more with less is fun. and far too often guys will "fix" there slow car just by giving the engine more power, and don't look at their overall set up to see what is going on.

It is fun for a while, but the fun wears off quickly. Especially if you try an all out build like I kinda did and you have a gross amount of money in an 11 second car. The fun part is now all I have to do is add power which is relatively cheap and easy at this point. I've abandoned my SI goal now and I'm getting ready to put the cam in.

Sad part for me is I live in Houston, where my low 10 second cam only car will be bitch slapped by family sedans and trucks... If your street car in Houston isn't running 6's @ 200+ you might as well have a mini van driving your kids to soccer practice

Well, it's a combo of things that add up to fast ****. We have weather that permits racing year-round, close to sea level for most of the area, and ton of great shops that build monsters daily. Add that with a good economy in this area and a lot of young money. That's a good combo for a helluva racing community.

I run 325 Hossier DR's on the street and about to have afco shocks added to full suspension, so pretty close to the same

Just mod suspension to make it hook on the street.

This.

I was tempted to chase the bolt-on leaderboards with my LT1, but decided it wasn't worth the time and hassle, and I didn't want to gut the car. Got down to 12.8s with still a LOT left to do to it and said **** it, then started opening up the motor. Wanted to run 11.9x with bolt-ons but it was way easier to do 11.7x with H/C .

Low 10s NA cam only is still quite the accomplishment, I am hoping for that with stroker/aftermarket heads/solid roller...but in a "boat anchor" LT1 .
