Default CTS-V vs 2JZ Cressida and 2JZ 300zx

This all occured in Mexicana!!

On my way back from a race day I encountered these two cars. All highway runs...

first 300ZX, we go from about 45 and I pull 2-3 cars fairly quickly... as this happens the cressida pulls around the 300 and catches and passes me! FAIL

Then the cressida, well we go from about the same speed and he pulls HARD(maybe a bus before 120ish).

Later on the 300 and I go at it again. Slightly lower pull but this time we go longer(topped 120). And where I first pulled some space, he quickly reeled me in and was next to me. Stayed that way due to shifts all the way to shut down.

Two serious cars, BTW look in modified mag for specs on the Cressida...

No passanger for video but ill work on that for future runs in Mexicanada

yeah try 1991 toyota sedan. running a single turbo and near 500whp... scary fast. Only reason i didnt stop in disbelief was I saw him at the show with his hood popped and noticed the engine/turbo. Was still not expecting to lose that bad.... Time for headers/heads/cam/intake mani and a tune soon...

Anyone wanna give me some money!?

shoulda bought a LS1 Fbody, then you could afford to mod it.

Nice runs and honorable deaths. No shame to lose to cars like that, especially from freeway rolls.

meh i got this car for a LOT more than just going fast. If that were all I needed I would have gotten a LS swapped Rx7. But i needed a sedan and comfort with speed.

Alas now I just need:
headers(1500 for kooks)
Heads(not sure which ones yet)
Cam(~400)
Intake Manifold(~300 for a LS3 or much more for a FAST)

say 3000 to make it easy?

That cressida is a ******* sleeper right there. There are a couple guys on Supraforums with 2JZ Cressidas that make BIG HP and are nasty from a roll. There was also a 2JZ cressida on Pinks all out that beat a few mustangs a while back.

Assuming you have the LS2 CTS-V:

hit the for sale forum and get the headers, LS3/L92 heads & intake, cam, and a GM $260 gasket set all for under $2k. Then go find them guys again.

Don't forget about springs, pushrods and the other bs that goes along with that cam swap. The cam itself is cheap.

Best bet is to figure out what cam or kinda cam you want, then call the vendor to find out the other stuff they recommend. I wish I was awesome and knew way more about cams, but sometimes it's best to talk to the guys that part things together daily like a speed Inc or texas speed.

I am going to go through one of them and spec a new cam once i know my setup. Right now I am looking L92/LS3 with kooks headers and I alreadyhave a K&N intake and Magnaflow Catback. So i need all the supporting parts needed to get there and a total price. DOnt want to start buying and run out of money mid way.

Lol not talking **** just saying. I was in 4th half asleep. Figured it was obvious when you walked away from me.

Second was a good run.

Right now just stock motor, cams, injectors. 61mm turbo. Approx 14 lbs boost. Dyno 350hp

Just picked it up from and old customer. Still running through it. Got a new turbo, injectors, cams, etc to install.

And yeah def gonna change the exhaust... Good run. Nice cts
