02 T/A vs. 03+ BMW Z4 ???
So, I am set to race my buddy in his moms Z4 (not sure of the year at the moment)...Really I know nothing of the car, but it is the newer, blockier looking one. I am an 02 T/A, Auto with nothing more than a lowly cat-back. The Z is stock with a manual trans. Now I am not sure if my friend will be driving, cause I talked with her about the idea and she seemed excited to race her "new" car. But if he drives, he can drive a stick, and aint afraid to kick it around. If she drives, not sure how well she gets going with a stick...let alone launching. So, what you guys think? Do I have a chance, or am I in for a spanking?

I am not terrified of the thing, just curious. I was thinking of both a dig and roll, just to see whats what. On a side note - She sent me a thing on Fbook saying she HAD to buy tires with a 157mph rating because the car is that fast...I so wanted to be like "how often do you plan on going 150+? Thats what I thought!"

If it's an S54 M car you could be in trouble (same engine as the M3 in a lighter car). The S52s aren't fast (the older M roadsters are S52, not sure which year they switched but it's a 93hp difference)
Otherwise, if it's a regular Z it's an easy kill.

the 335i's came out in 2007. This past year they went twin scroll single turbos and havent' been nearly as tunable as the previous 4 years. That is unless you want to learn first hand how quick a non M car can be.

It'll probly happem this weekend. And even if it is a waste of premium, I am still in. Every one around our small area thinks this thing is the ****...just would like to show what a car almost 10 yrs old can do to a little two seater.
edit- And I am pretty sure its not an M series...I think I would have noticed the 30 some badges on those things lol

Whereabouts in Il are you from? I still don't think you will have a problem. I'd be worried if it were a tuned 35i, but if it's stock you should be able to take it. If it's a NA straight 6 then it should be a walk in the park.
